MY AXIEVENTURE GONE WRONG.

I lost a huge amount of money that was not mine but before that let me ask you a question. Have you ever heard of axie infinity? No? well, axie infinity is a cryptocurrency, NFT game where you can earn tokens by fighting other people with “axies”, the tokens are called SLP (smooth love potion) and you can exchange it for real-world currency or money. Amazing right?

A game that we can gain real-life money for just playing it a couple of hours a day so you’re just having fun while making some decent money, a great deal from what I see. It’s a win-win situation. But before you can play the game you have to get your hands on their in-game characters or what they call axie’s and to get an axie you have to go to their marketplace and buy them, yes buy and yes them. By buy, I mean using your own actual money to grab one from the market and, by them, I mean you can’t just buy one and start playing, you need three axies to form one team. So that team will help you gain your money back till you get a return on how much your team cost and start getting profit after a couple of months playing. Though if you can’t afford a team that’s okay cause people with extra teams on their hands can lend you theirs in exchange for a percentage of what you gain. That’s what they call an axie scholarship and the ones offering their axie teams are called managers.

Now that I’ve explained quite a bit about what I’m going to be talking about, I’ll be getting on the main topic I wanna share here on hive. So Axie infinity, the now-famous NFT game where millions of people have started to invest their money’s on and gain profit day by day. A game that has helped thousands, even millions of people around the world just by playing and offering other people to play for them. It’s easy money. I even wanted one for myself because I’m a student in need of funds and I want to treat my family and girlfriend from time to time.

I was looking for scholarships from one discord server to another, going through every Facebook page and Twitter post where scholarships are being offered, and tried every day but there was none. Until one faithful evening, a cousin of mine created a group chat and invited me and my cousins and said “you guys want axie scholarships?” I was shocked, I took the chance right away and said “yes, I’ve been looking all over for one.”

So I did my research as much as I can so that I’ll already have prior knowledge when I start playing axie. I was so excited to start, too excited in fact. And that’s where it all went wrong. The day came when the axie team are to be bought from the marketplace and I was responsible for choosing the team. So we went and bought the team of my choosing so that I can start playing and earn some money.

I jumped with so much joy, thanked my cousin for the opportunity, and started playing. At first, it was fine, hopped on the adventure mode to get a feel for the axie team before I head on to fight other axie teams. After that, it was time to hit the arena. I went on and got into my first match. I was very nervous but confident, I did my research so what could go wrong, right? I did everything right, I was going to win my first match. Or so I thought. A word spelled DEFEAT so clear on my phone screen. I was in disbelief. Then played again. Defeat, and again, Defeat. It was a streak of losses. I couldn’t believe it, sleepless nights watching tutorial videos was it all for nothing? Then It hit me, did I learn anything, or was I in too much of a hurry that I didn’t even realize how wrong I could be with the axie team of my choosing? I chose my axie team, I didn’t listen to the people that were playing already. So the reality was I got arrogant, I thought I knew what I was getting myself into.

I got so scared, I didn’t know what to tell my cousin or how I should relay it but of course, I had to own up to my mistakes and be a man. I can’t just run away, I have to learn from it and face the consequences. So a day after I man up and told my cousin what happened. After that, I was so thankful that she understood and still gave me a chance to prove myself.

So this was what I meant at the beginning. By losing a huge amount of money. I feel so bad but I’ve learned a lot, the hard way. Now I do my research thoroughly, as of this moment I’m learning about crypto trading and I’m taking it step by step and actually listening to people with crypto trading knowledge and not coming up of my own stuff. Gotta pay back what was lost. So yeah It’s a mistake never to be made EVER again.

I hope you guys also learn from my mistake, never take opportunities for granted and always do your research properly and never rush it, especially when It comes to money. Arrogance diminishes wisdom, remember that.
