Hoy les quiero hablar de un Need for Speed que siempre me ha parecido curioso y que siempre he tenido las ganas de jugarlo, es uno de los NFS clásicos que salieron para la consola de PlayStation 1, dicho juego es diferente a los demás por tratarse sólo de una marca, así es existe un NFS exclusivo para una sola marca de autos, estamos hablando de la marca Porsche.
La Porsche es una marca que en mi opinión, es la mejor en cuanto a identidad se refiere, literal cada vez que escucho a un auto de la marca Porsche me impone respeto, son autos muy elegantes y veloces, aparte de trasmitir carisma, para mí es la mejor marca de autos del mundo por encima de Ferrari y Lamborghini, pero ese es otro debate, el juego que les hablaré hoy es de Need for Speed Porsche Unleashed, un juego de la saga de nfs el 5to para ser precisos, el mismo trata solo de autos Porsche contándonos la historia de la marca y veremos todos los modelos que se han creado, le juego los clasifica por eras.
Pensemos un poco, es increíble que una saga como NFS le dedique un único juego a una sola marca y para variar es parte de la saga original de NFS, se imaginan que la franquicia hiciera más juegos dedicados a una sola marca, aquí les dejo mis candidatos: Chevrolet, Nissan, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus, etc. Me parece una locura hacer un juego de las marcas que les mencioné, pero bueno sigamos.
Para empezar, una cosa que me fascino de Need for Speed Porsche Unleashed es el menú, es uno de los mejores menús que he visto en un juego de carreras, de verdad que este menú se roba el show por su presentación tan característica y el soundtrack tan sofisticado y relajante que le colocaron los desarrolladores, algo digno para una marca de autos que tiene mucha identidad en sus presentaciones y en sus vehículos como la Porsche.
Los soundtracks de Need for Speed Porsche Unleashed son muy buenos, un estilo retro de los buenos, después de hablar del menú vamos a ver los modos del juego, que en mi caso destaco tres, el modo evolución, el modo carrera rápida y el modo de persecución. Primero hablaré con el que menos me gustó y es el modo persecución, en este modo debemos huir de una patrulla el mayor tiempo posible, el problema es la jugabilidad que es algo no es muy precisa, o por lo menos a mi me costo mucho progresar en este modo, a su vez que el policía necesita un toquecito para poder arrestarte jaja.
Posteriormente, tenemos el modo evolución que este sirve como modo historia o modo carrera el cual nos servirá para desbloquear nuevos coches de la marca y nuevas prestaciones, es un modo muy largo, donde empezamos con los autos más antiguos ganamos carreras y avanzamos de categoría hasta llegar a los autos más nuevos que salieron en el año 2000, digamos que son como 50 años de historia sin contar los años recientes resumidos en 5 horas jaja.
El modo de juego que más me gustó por lejos es el de carrera rápida donde nos dan un montón de opciones para elegir como se va a desenvolver la carrera, puedes cambiar la dificultad, puedes elegir cuantas vueltas quieres hacer en el circuito, hasta puedes elegir cuantos oponentes quieres en la carrera, desde 1 hasta 5, incluso se puede modificar las reglas, pero eso no lo entendí muy bien jaja, en este modo fue donde más me la pasé jugando y está genial.
La forma de jugar tiene su estilo arcade, el cual tu único objetivo es llegar de primero no importa el cómo, es un juego de carreras de esos frenéticos que si te duermes puedes perder las carreras, aparte que los controles son demasiado fáciles de entender, en mi caso yo configuré mi mando de la siguiente manera, acelerando con la “X”, frenando con el “[]”, freno de mano en “O” y en triangulo es retroceso y para las velocidades L2 y R2, y el pad de dirección en la cruceta ya que en este tipo juegos no me gusta jugar con palanca, cosas mías.
La jugabilidad del NFS Porsche es buena, al principio es algo complicada ya que la sensibilidad de los autos a la hora de cruzar siento que está algo aumentada, es decir, hay que darle un toquecito al pad de dirección para que el auto pueda hacer el cruce que desees, ahora si le damos muy fuerte, o normal el auto se estrellara contra la pared y perderemos velocidad, obvio que en la saga de NFS si pierdes velocidad es sinónimo de peligro jaja.
Pero después de 3 carreras le agarré el truco a los controles y a la sensibilidad del mismo, puedo decir que la jugabilidad en teclado es distinta, me tomé la libertad de configurar el teclado como si estuviera jugando un NFS en pc y el resultado fue bastante mejor de lo que pensé, corriendo y cruzando en las típicas teclas de W,A,S,D y haciendo los cambios con las flechas de dirección, pero en si es mejor jugarlo con mando, yo lo estuve jugando con mando de PS3 a de ser por eso que los cruces son muy sensibles, en un mando de PS1 original no creo que sea así.
Para finalizar, hablemos de los autos que aparecen en este juego, si ya sé que todos son Porsche jaja, pero voy destacar unos cuantos, el primero que me gustó fue el Porsche 991 Turbo 1975 cuyo modelo me recuerda al Ruf YellowBird jaja, otro que destaco es el Porsche 917 Short Tail un auto de carreras le mans con su patrocinador característico este auto también tiene una variante en negro que se ve muy sofisticada.
El otro auto que me gustó es uno de los más modernos del juego hablo del Porsche Boxter por ser descapotable y ser uno de los modelos más nuevos, tiene un gran diseño, sin lugar a dudas el auto que más me gustó fue el Porsche 959 este auto tiene una gran facha y para mí es el mejor del juego en cuanto a rendimiento un auto de carreras disfrazado de auto de calle, sin mencionar a los autos de carreras que todos son facheros, pero cuestan mucho para desbloquear, lo que añadiría a este juego sería el Porsche Carrera GT auto que me encanta, pero no existía para el momento que salió el juego, una lástima jaja.

To begin with, one thing that fascinated me about Need for Speed Porsche Unleashed is the menu, it is one of the best menus I've seen in a racing game, really this menu steals the show for its characteristic presentation and the soundtrack so sophisticated and relaxing that the developers placed, something worthy for a car brand that has a lot of identity in their presentations and their vehicles like Porsche.
The soundtracks of Need for Speed Porsche Unleashed are very good, a retro style of the good ones, after talking about the menu let's see the game modes, which in my case I highlight three, the evolution mode, the fast race mode, and the chase mode. First I'll talk to the one I liked the least and that is the pursuit mode, in this mode, we must flee from a patrol as long as possible, the problem is that the gameplay is something is not very accurate, or at least it cost me a lot to progress in this mode, at the same time that the police need a little touch to arrest you haha.
Subsequently, we have the evolution mode that serves as a story mode or career mode which will serve to unlock new cars of the brand and new features, it is a very long mode, where we start with the oldest cars we win races and advance in category until we reach the newest cars that came out in 2000, let's say it's like 50 years of history without counting the recent years summarized in 5 hours haha.
The game mode that I liked the most by far is the quick race mode where they give us a lot of options to choose how the race will unfold, you can change the difficulty, you can choose how many laps you want to do in the circuit, you can even choose how many opponents you want in the race, from 1 to 5, you can even modify the rules, but I did not understand that very well haha, in this mode was where I spent the most time playing and it's great.
The gameplay has its arcade style, in which your only goal is to get first no matter how, is a racing game of those frantic that if you fall asleep you can lose the races, besides the controls are too easy to understand, in my case I configured my controller as follows, accelerating with the “X”, braking with the “[]”, handbrake on “0” and triangle is reversed and for speeds L2 and R2, and the direction pad on the crosshead because in this type of game, I do not like to play with a stick, my thing.
The gameplay of NFS Porsche is good, at first it is somewhat complicated because the sensitivity of the cars when crossing I feel that is somewhat increased, ie, you have to give a little touch to the direction pad so that the car can make the crossing you want, now if we give too hard, or normal the car will crash into the wall and lose speed, obviously in the saga of NFS if you lose speed is synonymous with danger haha.
But after 3 races I got the hang of the controls and the sensitivity of it, I can say that the gameplay on the keyboard is different, I took the liberty to configure the keyboard as if I was playing an NFS on pc and the result was much better than I thought, running and crossing with the typical W, A, S, D keys and making the changes with the arrow keys, but it is better to play it with a controller, I was playing it with a PS3 controller, that's why the crossings are very sensitive, in an original PS1 controller I don't think it would be like that.
Finally, let's talk about the cars that appear in this game, yes I know they are all Porsche haha, but I will highlight a few, the first one I liked was the Porsche 991 Turbo 1975 whose model reminds me of the Ruf YellowBird haha, another one I highlight is the Porsche 917 Short Tail a le man's racing car with its characteristic sponsor this car also has a black variant that looks very sophisticated.
The other car I liked is one of the most modern in the game I talk about the Porsche Boxter for being convertible and being one of the newest models, has a great design, undoubtedly the car that I liked the most was the Porsche 959 car has a great face and for me is the best in the game in terms of performance a race car disguised as a street car, not to mention the racing cars that all are great looking, but they cost a lot to unlock, what I would add to this game would be the Porsche Carrera GT car that I love, but did not existed by the time the game came out, a pity haha.
