Los juegos retro fueron una parte fundamental en mi infancia, prácticamente me la pasaba encerrado en mi casa jugando videojuegos de todo tipo antes de conocer el mundo exterior, dichos juegos los recuerdo con mucho cariño, hasta hoy en día los sigo jugando.
Hoy para empezar con esta iniciativa de 14 días, hablaré sobre mi primera consola de videojuegos, que me dio mis primeras tantas horas de diversión y que me abrió las puertas a un mundo nuevo donde era libre de manejar una historia de fantasía o ciencia fisión como quisiera. Es un placer presentarles mi primera consola La Xbox Clásica como le dicen en estos tiempos, una consola que salió en noviembre del 2001 (hace casi 20 años).
Una consola hecha por la compañía de Microsoft, durante su lanzamiento la gente la criticó porque pensaban que iba a ser como un ordenador hecho consola y no iba tener tanta potencia.
Es una consola difícil de transportar debido a su gran tamaño y enorme peso. Para mí fue la consola más potente de su generación: los gráficos, los detalles visuales, los audios, entre otras cosas de sus juegos estaban muy avanzados.
¿Cómo llegó a mis manos? Fácil, mi hermano mayor al ver que ya no servía el lector de disco de la consola y con el inicio de las ventas de la Xbox 360 pues él decidió comprarse la nueva Xbox y dejarme la vieja a mí, para mi buena suerte en la memoria interna de la consola había juegos que nadie jugaba y también varios emuladores. Jugué con está consola demasiadas horas encerrado en el cuarto de mi tío e incluso la dejaba prendida cuando me iba a la escuela, para llegar inmediatamente a jugar.
Emuladores de super Nintendo, de Game Boy Advance y de Nintendo 64 son los que habían en la consola más otros juegos que estaban instalados en su disco duro, juegos de pelea como Marvel vs Capcom 2 , Capcom vs SNK y Celebrity Deathmatch (juego que jamás me dejaron jugar porque era muy violento) , también con juegos de carreras como Fórmula 1 o The Italian Job y el mejor juego de plataformas de esa consola el Blinx the time Sweeper (Este último fue al que más horas le dediqué).
Un día mi padre me regaló una nueva consola la PlayStation 2 estaba muy feliz pero aun así prefería la Xbox, sin darme cuenta mi mamá se volvió loca y regaló la Xbox a uno de mis primos pequeños (era tan pequeño para darme cuenta de que fue un error cambiar la Xbox por la PlayStation 2) claro si me dan a elegir prefiero quedarme con las dos consolas jajaja.
Durante años esta maravillosa consola pasó encerrada en un cajón, porque se le dañó los condensadores de poder, lo cual no permitía que encendiera, la consola se llenó de mucho polvo y grasa. Hasta que llamé hace semanas a uno de mis tíos para que me la trajeran y poder ver en que estado está, lamentablemente no prendé y los mandos están muy desgastados, pero aún tengo fe en que funcionen, pronto la mandaré arreglar con un profesional para que esté como nueva.
Para acabar, el mando de esta consola me parece el más como de su generación a pesar de que pasé un montón de años jugando con los mandos de PlayStation, me resulta más cómodo un control que tenga la palanca en la parte superior izquierda, una particularidad que tiene es que el botón “Star” está a un lado (los botones negros del lado izquierdo) y para ser sincero me resultó más cómodo así, los gatillos “L” y “R” tienen un agarre muy bueno y no parece que se dañen con facilidad.
Bueno familia esta fue mi primera consola para la iniciativa de “Retro Gaming Challenge” propuesta por @marcoquin, que recuerdos de esta consola, ojalá poder arreglarla en un futuro cercano, jugar juegos de mi infancia otra vez y descargar muchos juegos en su disco duro, espero que les haya gustado y nos veremos con más retos como este.
