This is a management and adventure video game developed by Thunder Lotus Games, released in August 2020.
In “Spiritfarer,” players assume the role of Stella, a young girl who becomes a “Spiritfarer,” a kind of boatwoman who helps the souls of the dead cross over to the afterlife.
Throughout the game, Stella is accompanied by her cat, Daffodil, and together they navigate a beautiful, stylized world full of islands and spirit creatures.
Stella's main mission is to find and help spirits who are lost or who need to close cycles in their lives before they can leave this world.
The game combines elements of resource management, construction and exploration. Players must collect materials, build and upgrade their ship, and prepare meals for the spirits they board.

Each spirit has its own story, personality and needs, which adds a layer of emotional depth to the game.
As Stella interacts with these characters, players can discover their past histories, help them solve their problems, and ultimately guide them toward their farewell.
One of the highlights of “Spiritfarer” is its focus on the themes of death and grief. Through interactions with spirits, the game addresses themes of loss, acceptance and the importance of letting go.
Each encounter with a spirit is an opportunity to reflect on life and relationships, making the game both poignant and meaningful.

The art style of “Spiritfarer” is another of its strengths. With a vibrant and colorful visual design, the game presents a world full of life and detail.
The animation is fluid and charming, contributing to the game's magical and nostalgic atmosphere. The soundtrack, composed by Max LL, perfectly complements the experience, creating an immersive atmosphere that accompanies players on their emotional journey.
“Spiritfarer” also offers a co-op mode, where a second player can join in as Daffodil, Stella's cat.
This allows two players to collaborate in managing the ship and interacting with the spirits, adding a social dimension to the game.
