This is a role-playing video game (RPG) developed by Square Enix and Acquire, released in 2018 for Nintendo Switch and later for other platforms.
The story of “Octopath Traveler” centers on eight playable characters, each with their own story, abilities and motivations.
Players can choose one of these characters at the start of the game, and as they progress, they can recruit the other seven to form a diverse group.
Each character comes from a different region of the world of Orsterra and has his or her own narrative that intertwines with the stories of the others.

This allows players to explore a variety of plots and characters, which enriches the overall experience of the game.
The eight protagonists are: Olberic Eisenberg, Cyrus Albright, Tressa Colzione, H'aanit, Primrose Azelhart, Alfyn Greengrass, Therion and Ophilia Clement.
The combat system in “Octopath Traveler” is turn-based and is based on a “Break” and “Boost” system. Enemies have specific weaknesses that players must discover and exploit to maximize their damage.
Characters can accumulate “Boost” points that allow them to perform more powerful actions on their turns, adding a strategic layer to battles.
One of the game's standout features is its visual style, which combines 2D graphics with a 3D “diorama” effect. This artistic approach creates a vibrant and detailed world reminiscent of classic RPGs, but with a modern twist.

The music, composed by Yasunori Nishiki, complements the experience, with melodies that evoke nostalgia and adventure.
“Octopath Traveler” also offers an exploration system that allows players to interact with the environment and NPCs in a variety of ways.
Each character has unique abilities that they can use outside of combat, allowing them to access hidden areas, obtain information or even recruit other characters.
The game's narrative unfolds through chapters dedicated to each character, allowing players to delve deeper into their individual stories.
However, as the game progresses, the characters' stories begin to intertwine, creating a rich and complex narrative experience.
I know it by sight and I know it is really beautiful but I was totally unaware that it had been developed by Square Enix, I was very surprised by this information. I already love dioramas but when I saw this game with this unique style really blew my mind, too bad that at least for me it is extremely expensive here in Argentina.
An undeniable reality for South American players, the prices are prohibitive, but there are cheaper options in the alternative market.
