Lode Runner is a 1983 platform video game, originally published by Brøderbund. It was one of the first games to include a level editor, a feature that allows players to create their own levels for the game.

Its developer and designer was Douglas E. Smith, who redesigned a game of his own called Kong that was ported to VAX minicomputers.

Initially Lode Runner was released for the Apple II, the Atari Family 8-bit, the Commodore 64 and a version for the MSX computer.

Later versions include those for the Atari ST, Sinclair Spectrum 48K/128K, NES, Windows 3.1, Macintosh, and the original Game Boy.

This was one of those games I remember waiting for my turn to play at school during lunch but not having enough time to actually play because some kids were so much better at it (we played on a 1 life/1 turn model).

It looked fun but as time went on, I simply never got back to playing this one as other games constantly caught my atttention. I need to give it a proper play some day as it still looks fun.

You can get it in rom and play it with emulator and remember those times.
