Ragnarok Origin | Some Rookie Mistakes Building My ADL Hunter

It's been more than two weeks since I started playing Ragnarok Origin. There are many aspects to learn and I can say that I am getting the hang of it. I wish I read the guides earlier because I messed up in building my character stat points and skill sets earlier in the game. My character is a Hunter and I'm used to building ADL (agi-dex-luk) in the older versions of Ragnarok Online. Dexterity is a vital component which increases HIT rate and also ranged physical attacks. In the older versions adventurers needed specific DEX for them to hit the enemy, especially if they were leveling in higher level maps.

Monsters with high levels also have high stats. There are chances that their FLEE rate are so high adventurers might miss some shots. In the long run it wasted a lot of arrows. Common arrows in Ragnarok Origin are infinite but back in the days these were prized at 1 zeny each and the silver ones were at 3 zeny if I'm not mistaken. So, yes an archer class should always have high dexterity to not waste arrows and zennies.

Zeny has become a more premium currency for modern versions of Ragnarok Online like Origin for example. Actually, there are lots of new currency now like Diamonds and Nyan Berries. The most common one is the Eden coin which is easy to earn and also easy to spend. Necessities like potions, panacea, gem stones, traps and arrows can be bought by spending Eden coins.

In the old Ragnarok it's common for ADL hunters to prioritize maximizing the DEX stat. After DEX we usually focused on AGI which increases the attack speed and FLEE rate. And lastly LUK for CRIT and increasing the chance for the hunter/sniper passive Blitz Beat. Blitz Beat is actually an active but it can be passively proc by normal attacks hitting the enemy. The hunter/sniper would send their falcons to dive on the target dealing neutral physical damage. Normal attacks has 5% chance to proc auto Blitz and it increases by 1% for every 3 LUK stat allocated. For Blitzers of those hunters that prioritize this skill they usually have lower DEX values and put more emphasis on AGI (for atk spd) and LUK (%chance).

In the older versions and even today auto Blitz is one of those skills that make a hunter or sniper look cooler. In the older versions however the accumulated damage of AGI-LUK Blitzers compared to ADL (DEX maximized) was significant with the former being worse. That's the reason why I also opted maximizing my DEX first but I was wrong. Right now, ADL's are built like Blitzers (AGI-LUK). One reason I see why this happened is that the ranged physical damage gained by allocating DEX today is not as significant compared to the older version. The wide variety of equipment and accessories also helped in producing more viable builds for hunter and snipers.

Thankfully, there are 3 free resets for both stats and skills. Right now, I've decided to go with 2 AGI: 1 LUK ratio. My equipment and accessories are decent but as my character level up these would got outdated in the near future. Currently, I prioritizing farming materials to craft my future items.

This will be all for today.
Thanks for stopping by.

Since I saw your last post I was delighted with the game, just yesterday I bought my new phone, so I proceeded to look for the game when I realize that it says it is not available for my region haha. I tried to download it through the game page but when I registered it gave me an error.

That's too bad.
Actually, I feel you as I've waited for more than 2 years.
When it was first released in S. Korea I thought it would only take a year at most before they released the game to our region (SEA) but it took more or less 3 years.
It will probably come to your region but it's still a matter of time.

I've been contemplating whether I should play RO again. I used to be a full support vit type priest. I guess the stat distribution is one of the things I'll also need to check out with Ragnarok Origin.

FS priests as usual are in-demand.
If you decided to play I think you'd never have trouble finding party mates every now and then since there's always this shortage for the priest class.
Origin is not very different from the previous RO but I suggest you do advance research to save time and to avoid some minor mistakes like I did. XD
