A few days ago I got over my saltiness at the ore generation changes in Minecraft 1.18 and began a brand new hardcore world. Today I continue doing stuff!
Woo!
First of all, I got what I'm childishly referring to as my "up mine" and my "down mine" all sorted out.
The "Up Mine" is for finding coal and emeralds high up in the mountains, and the "Down Mine" is for everything else. I've dug tunnels at y16 for iron collection. At y0 for lapis lazuli collection. And once I continue downwards, there'll be tunnels at y-16 for gold before going all the way down to y-54 for diamonds and glory.
Back in the day I'd just mine down to y11 and go nuts, but alas, they changed it all. Bastards. 🤣
Normally, also, I'd mine out a decent sized tunnel from y64 all the way down to y11 and create a nifty minetrack to ferry me and my goods along. This time I said to myself, "Bugger it," and just made big-arse shafts with ladders.
That's probably going to kill me before anything else. Ladders.
Either way, so far the mine is working as intended. This time, unlike last time, I'm actually finding a decent amount of iron and I'm actually finding coal. So. Woo! No longer burning all the trees just to make some torches!
With a steady supply of iron at my fingertips, I decided to utilise it in the formation of many, many shovels and began terraforming some more land. Beautification matters. If you're ever on a Minecraft server with me and visit my base, you'll see that aesthetic is my main priority. If there is a hole in the dirt, I will flatten it. If by some ungodly reason the server has MobGriefing set to 'true' I'll go out of my way to fill in creeper explosions. Everything must be nice.
While others are spending hours working on redstone contraptions, I'm spending hours just planting flowers, making paths, creating ponds...
But Kaelci, what's the point of doing this sort of stuff in a Hardcore game? When you die it's all going to disappear anyway!
🤷♀
It's just me, really. There's always the off-chance that I'll survive in this game for a very long time, in which case I want it to be pretty.
On that note: now that I had some ponds, I needed some sugarcane! For aesthetics as well as my future library and mass of books.
So I grabbed my bed and some basics and went on an adventure, leaving a trail of torches in my wake...
...and found my favourite biome less than a day's journey away. xD Obviously I should've flown around a bit more when I was investigating this seed. I was just happy to find a village, abundant land and mountains. Now I'm even happier knowing that I won't have to search forever and won't have to move twenty miles away when the time comes.
I will form a great road between the village and the future dark-oak-forest-based Manor of Moi. It will be glorious!
I explored until I ran out of torches, grabbed small items of interest along the way -- namely pumpkins, sugar cane, assorted flowers, and some sand because I have none in my current area, and high-tailed it back to the village to grow this sugarcane... in an aesthetic manner before creating an area to farm the living daylights out of it.
While I didn't do much of great importance in my Hardcore Minecraft World today, I did do enough to keep me occupied and to pass the day away.
I sorted out my Up Mine and my Down Mine 😆 found more iron ore in an hour than I did in an entire week in my previous seed a couple of months ago ⛏ terraformed huuuuuuge tracts of land and adorned it with ponds and flowers and a few expensive lilypads from a wandering trader who decided to get stuck in my Area of Terraformation...
...and discovered a great Dark Oak Forest a mere waltz away which shall be my new home once I get sorted and ready to actually build.
My goal next time I play is to keep mining and get to where the diamonds are at. I also sidled past one of thosee pre-formed mineshafts when I was iron hunting and I'm hoping to find a couple of cave spider spawners inside. Can't make a future library without a future XP farm!! 😁
Until next time!! ⛏🙃
I burnt out on Minecraft a long time ago. Played it so much that now I cannot stand the game for some reason. 😅
That's fair enough, haha. I get into little phases where I just feel like playing it again, and usually there's been a few updates in between each of those phases so there's always something new to discover. 🙂
o.o I can tell you have a great time decorating and being aware of the aesthetics of your base, I'm usually a bit like that too.
It's my favourite part of Minecraft. 🙂 I find the mining therapeutic, but love creating something nice!
You did great mining job of searching iton, nice I like sunflower in first photo🌻 go for diamond
Yep! Hopefully I find lots of diamonds next time!! 🙂
ooooww, I'll follow u of course 😊
Thank you 🙂🙃
