In my last Sandrock post Lily, the great Builder of Sandrock, had helped fix very important farming equipment so that the town wouldn't starve, had participated in a Dance Off and Ghosthunting adventure and came out on top, and then stopped a giant fat lizard man from destroying Sandrock.
Unfortunately, in stopping the big fat lizard, Sandrock's railway tracks and very important bridge were destroyed. They needed that bridge to ship water into town. They needed to fix this tragedy, stat!
Lily got to work mining as much as she could. They would need so much metal, so many components, so much hardwood in order to complete this monumental task.
She practically lived in the mines until she had insane amounts of materials. More than superfluous. Insane amounts!
While she was out gathering metals all day every day, a commission came in from Qi the Researcher. He needed a battery, but not just any battery β aa super powerful battery! His research led him to believe there was one in the old Paradise Lost shopping complex...
Could she... retrieve it for him?
Of course she could!
Little did she know, however, that the battery that Qi was after was currently being used by a giant cat-shaped machine. A giant cat-shaped machine that was hellbent on destroying her!
Dodging its electrical arms, she destroyed the machines that controlled the arms and then destroyed the wiring inside of it, leaving the battery intact and ready for Qi's use.
Mission, successful!
Even more successful - there is a random drop in one of the hazardous ruin dungeons called the Ragequit. Lily happened to stumble across it and was amused to find it shaped like a computer keyboard. xD
'Ragequit'. Brilliant.
Finally, after much mining and processing of materials, Lily could place the finishing touches on the bridge she was helping rebuild.
Someone came to assure the structural integrity was sound...
And the bridge passed with flying colours!
The bridge was repaired, the trains could come, water could be supplied to the townspeople. All was right with the world.
I thought that this would be the perfect time to get to work on the property a bit. Mostly I wanted to upgrade the assembly station, only to find that I was a few materials too short. π So, decided just to play around with the layout a bit instead.
I expanded the house just a small, affordable amount. Repainted it and replaced the roofing, too. Had a stable built so I could get a horse sometime soon and not just rent one. Re-arranged my machines a bit. And sorted all of my farm plots.
I also left plenty of room around the assembly station so that when it gets upgraded, it should have plenty of room.
The next day, Lily caught Unsuur the Corpsman red-handed. He was the one giving her secret admirer letters!
Once again I, Kaelci, Lily's Controller, had to remind myself that we're ignoring Unsuur. Logan will be here soon enough. There'll be no flirting with the slow-but-amusing military man.
After farewelling Unsuur, Lily was excited to go check out the stables at the local farm.
Unfortunately, after spending all of her gold on her house and land, she couldn't afford to buy a horse. Refusing to rent/borrow a beast, she would have to suffer on foot for just a bit longer.
Due to not having a horse, camel or yak to use as a mount, Little Lily wandered deep into the desert on foot. Now that the bridge was repaired and the Geeglers had gone, the wide open dunes were available to explore!
She was commissioned by Catori, the local entertainment dealer, to build a kiosk by the dunes for sandracing competitions in the future, and once that was done Lily roamed around the emptiness and found all sorts of new materials and resources to hoard.
Oh no! Lily was awoken from her peaceful slumber by a commotion outside!
She raced outside to see what the heck was going on... only to see the water tower in flames and hear the clatter of hooves galloping towards her.
And that's when she made eye contact with Logan, the outlaw himself.
They stared at each other for what felt like an age, yet t'was but a moment as Justice, Unsuur and Pen tried to pursue the outlaw and bring him to a more rhetorical justice.
They failed.
Logan got away.
Intrigued by this outlaw, Lily barely listened as the angry mob of a town conversed together. There was talk of forming a posse to bring Logan in, but she could only think of his vibrant blue eyes.
Then... there was talk of repairing the water tower.
...the water tower...
It looked like she had a lot more work to do, once again. The disasters never seemed to end in Sandrock!

Until next time! π΅π

Love these types of adventurous games that are full of amazing activities such as collecting/scavenging parts or elements, fixing/building things and managing a community. Gives a feeling of living in a different reality.
