Strict parents used to mean something different back in my day

Most of the mountain stuff really didn't amount to anything. The major takeaway for today's episode was about Minnie's parents and her aspirations.

So first her aspirations. Essentially what she wants to do is become a mangaka. I don't know if she knows this but being a mangaka is rough! I'd love to show her the anime about the life of a mangaka and how much they end up freaking out, losing sleep, getting depressed, getting pressured by their editors and the fans to do even more, etc. Sure many of these anime spin it in a positive direction by the end but actually living the life is hard. Actually I could even do that in game because we had 2 editions of an event where we helped a super stressed out mangaka find some reference material. It's not really about creating art so much as repetitively drawing things in order to make deadlines. And of course if you don't have your series yet, it's difficult enough just to get one started.

I think her parents are worried about the wrong thing in that case. But yeah seriously, their "strict parenting" is hardly the standard brand. It's more like they're just really concerned and overprotective of her which is actually justified since she said that she was sickly as a child. Also her big brother is the local drunk so the parents might have a chip on their shoulder. Still, they think her training on the mountain is tough on her body. Wait till they see her workload if she actually starts working for Yae Publishing House!

Anyway let's see how this one wraps up on Tuesday!
