Finally! The Battlefield We've Been Asking For!

image.png

Since release of Battlefield 4 back in 2013, many of my friends and I have been hoping for something like that again. I am sure that many of you have also held onto this game dearly. The Battlefield experience is something else, it is not like any other shooter game - Despite its' similarities to CoD and the alike. Even to this day, my friends and I would consistently play but servers are hard to find now, which is a real shame with the revolutionary mechanics BF4 brought to the market.

I say all of these things about BF4 because it is the closest competitor and presumably the inspiration for this new Battlefield that is coming out now. Both are set to the modern/near future with real-world rifles and vehicles to really feel like a... well, battlefield for the lack of better words.

Release Date And Pricing Information

As of current, Battlefield 2042 will be releasing on all platforms October 22nd, 2021. However, you will get to partake in the private beta and play earlier than that if you choose to pre-order.

In addition, EA Play subscribers will be given a 10 hour early access trial to the game starting October 15th, and 10% off on the pre-order price.

Speaking of pricing, the next-generation consoles will have the game be priced at $70 USD, and $60 USD for the previous generation including Xbox One and PS4.

Battlefield 2042 Lowdown

Battlefield 2042 sets in shortly after BF4's storyline, however saying this is quite ironic as this new game will not have an exclusive campaign. Instead, all man-power is set towards the multiplayer gameplay to ensure the best gaming experience online.

On EA, the game is given a little background to where the game kicks off explaining the raging war and how the world got to the brink of chaos. EA is where I found this information, if you would like to see it for yourself.

I highly suggest skipping this part and reading it on the link above. the atmosphere on the site is amazing and reading it here doesn't do justice.

2031.
Ten years is all it took to bring the world to the brink. Rising sea levels, collapsing economies, broken alliances, and the headlines keep rolling in...

October 9th, 2033.
“Hurricane Zeta. The world's first category 6 storm.”

Jan 11th, 2034.
“Global food, fuel shortages spark Second Great Depression.”

August 8th, 2035.
"European Union officially disbands following Germany’s collapse."

THE RISE OF THE NO-PATS

Left behind, the displaced band together into ragtag fleets in search of safe harbor. They are families, farmers, doctors, engineers, and soldiers... the once privileged and the impoverished with backgrounds that are worlds apart, forced together, determined to survive.

The media calls them the Non-Patriated. They call themselves… No-Pats.

THE NEW NORMAL
2037.

Humanity adapts to the new normal. Revolutions in energy, desert irrigation, hydraulic levees, and sea walls save coastal cities, reclaim farmland, and rebuild supply chains. Hope of finding stability leads to some nations re-opening their borders.

However, with no way to repatriate 1.2 billion people, No-Pats become a permanent fixture in all economic, military, and social policy making. Many No-Pats are still distrustful of the governments that exiled them and refuse calls to reassimilate. No-Pat leaders emerge, inspiring a new identity unbound to former nationality, drawing a line in the sand between the Old World and The New Normal. #WeAreNoPats becomes a rallying cry.

Amidst the world rebuilding, sparks of friction erupt between the US and Russia, as the last two superpowers both vie for control of this fast-changing world.

THE BLACKOUT OF 2040
2040.

A sudden space debris storm creates a “Kessler Effect” causing 70%+ of all orbiting satellites to malfunction and crash to Earth. The cause is unknown.

The subsequent blackout causes mass devastation. Planes crash. Communication grids collapse. Already jammed global supply chains come to a stand-still. Prices of oil, grain, coal skyrocket exponentially. Unsubstantiated claims report over 100,000 lives are lost.

A world on the brink, goes over the edge. No internet. No navigation. No surveillance. No storm forecasts.

Geopolitical distrust surges overnight. No one can spy on each other, so no one can trust each other. Both Russia and the US claim the other is responsible for the Blackout, while some suspect No-Pats were behind it and accuse them of trying to sow anarchy.

Former military and combat trained Specialists amongst the No-Pats rise up into armed Task Forces to defend themselves as tensions rise.

THE BRINK OF WAR

A food and fuel shortage ignites a shadow war between the US and Russia. To maintain plausible deniability, both sides field No-Pat Task Forces as proxies in escalating conflicts over resources – promising the refugees a piece of what's left.

2042.

Open war is imminent. No-Pats have no choice but to choose sides, fighting not for a flag, but for their future.

Wow! That is such an intriguing story, just reading that gives me the shivers... if only their was a campaign to actually find out more from 😢

Just to clear up some questions I've seen, no campaign, no battle royale. Just multiplayer. Upsetting to some, a relief to others.

Gameplay And What We Know Now (Gameplay Reveal)

Gameplay Reveal Trailer Here

Wow! Okay... that's a lot of amazing things to talk about. Battlefield franchise changing the FPS market again. Weather Levelution is in! Battlefield 2042 is now introducing combat with diverse weather such as tornados, sandstorms, rain and much much more.

To make this a bit easier to understand and provide more information, this will be bulleted.

Psst... also watch the trailer, cinematically amazing along with gameplay and hints towards what we can foreshadow for the actual release

• 128 V 128 Player Combat
• Parachuting
• Wingsuit
• Gadgets by specialization
• First/Third person vehicle driving
• Hovercrafts
• Huge drivable VTOL?!
• Semi-futuristic and modern weapons?!

I am 1000% positive there are others that I missed, but with these highlighted points, we are definitely in for quite an amazing game. I'm even fighting to say a top contender for best game 2022.

My First Opinions On The Gameplay Reveal

I am blown away, the new mechanics and additions to combat is insane! I normally don't watch gameplay reveals, nor do I make posts about them, but I could watch this every day until it comes out and still be ecstatic for release.

I LOVE IT! Just the detail of the gun and the rocket taking off really gets me excited for the objectives that might come from this.

Possibly a S&D mode where one defends the rocket, while others attack?

I see some subtle changes to the HUD, but it is mostly like BF4. I like the small design of it while trying to keep out of the way for gameplay. I love the HUD on the jet as it looks realistic and is sleek.

A grappling hook gun! I am afraid to see the effect of really skilled players using this, the grappling gun will change the dynamic of having the high-ground quite a bit.

I am really excited though, it is almost needed in a futuristic game with such big maps and maps holding 128 players.

This weather is going to be some really crazy stuff! This is the new levelution that is going to mix things to the max, disrupting your player's vision and movement. I am sure that once we all get acclimated to the game, wing gliding through the tornado to gain speed and shoot out is going to be a common occurrence. 10/10 on the idea, I am blown away it took this long to add something as big and important as weather effects, but being a go-to dynamic addition.

However, as a naturalist to BF4, there are some quarrels I have with what I saw that must be brought to light. Small things that I will get over or end up liking but right now I am really conflicted about these things.

The on-field weapon customization. . . it looks cool and helps going from CQC to medium range, but I find it unrealistic and kind of annoying to deal with. What are the chances that you will be out on the field with a whole range of attachments and actually changing them?

I get it though, new mechanic, looks nice, and Battlefield 2042 isn't trying to be the most realistic. However, it Just doesn't sit right with me and I hope over time I will like it or just not have to use it.

Another issue I saw was the lack of the customization menu, that worries me as I thought the BF4 style was perfect. Furthermore, the way of unlocking attachments was really cool, some through leveling the weapon up while others were from a case. I won't stay up at night just yet though, I am sure the next reveal will show us some of that and I wont be as worrying about it. Provided below will be the customization menu of BF4 that I love so much.

Final words

Battlefield 2042 is really changing things up in the FPS world, giving all of us what we've been asking for and more. The weather, weapons, and mechanics look awesome and we are still far away from release. I can't help from wanting to promote and suggest everyone to pre-order if interested in FPS games.

But unfortunately I cannot do that... EA has been proven to be a bit unwieldy and money hungry in any way that they can get away with. I highly suggest waiting a bit until more details are out and real people get their hands on the game before hitting that big Pre-order button.

Even I (buys every CoD knowing I'll get bored and it's not worth $60) am going to hold off for time being until stuff gets settled. Chances are the game is worth it, but when it is a game that is completely virtual and costing $70 USD, some deep thought must be considered.

But if you like what you saw, don't let me stop you from pre-ordering now. It's your money and I am merely providing you details and my personal opinion.

You can also see more Battlefield gameplay/reveals July 22nd!

Thank you for reading, and I hope you learned something new from this.
Until next time...

It is the best game ever.

Seriously!! My forever FPS games will always be Black Ops 2, Battlefield 4, and Borderlands 2.
Gonna be hard to top those but I really hope the best for BF 2042

It's starting to look real good. So many things that make it unique. I haven't been impressed by any Battlefield game since Battlefield 3, and it was the last one I bought. I'm probably getting this one.

Definitely! I had gotten BF4 and that was my first, but I've tried previous. I think the age of the game and not playing at the prime for the others drew me back.

I really think Dice is changing things up a ton, and I like that. I just hope that some of the issues that I see now can be cleared up. (Still gonna play the heck out of it though)

There are communities and fans with a lot of hype for this game, without a doubt this game comes to fight WarZone, which has been leading this style of games for some time.

Me too!

haha more like a solid squad and a year off work. I will be in a complete social coma until I overplay the game straight into the dust.

Yes lmao

The things I would do to have a job like YouTube full time and just experience new games and have an excuse to play all the time.
