XV was the biggest letdown in years for me. It started out just stupid in that you are a member of the royal family yet you are pushing your car down the road? Come on now! Who does that make sense to? I get that you need to meet that G-string wearing lady at the auto repair shop somehow but surely there was a more practical method of doing this.
Senseless long travel to and from various towns that you were forced to watch even though nothing goes on, the need to purchase gasoline (why? dammit! why?) and then about 1/2 way through the game it looks like they just completely gave up on having a cohesive story altogether. Combine this with massive sections of the map that weren't used at all and the huge amount of fetch quests and XV was just LAME.
Squenix has done a much better job with this one and I think repeating the story is ok for most of us because I have forgotten most of the story since the PS1 release.
If you are waiting for FF7 remake to hit 20 bucks you might be waiting forever, Square Enix doesn't tend to discount their games as XV, which no one is even buying, is still near full price in the PS store.
I like to call XV final reality because of the car and gas stuff. It's $20 now at Walmart
ah, ok. i don't have access to walmart over here in Vietnam. I'm subjected to the whims of the PS store for the most part.
