As it turns out, the corrupted blood was not only able to affect players, but their pets as well. You're probably thinking that all you had to do was wait for the pet to wear off and that was it...if only that had been the case.

IIRC, it actually spread because of a pet. When a dude left a dungeon his pet was still infected with it and it spread from that pet.
