What is going on guys? If you read my post yesterday, you’d know that I was waiting for a certain package to come in the mail today, however I got a bit worried that it may not have been in! Last night I got an email saying that package delivery date was now delayed by a day, which got me a bit fumed as I paid an extra 33 bucks for fast shipping.





However, I figured that it may have just been an automatic message as the tracking still read it departed an airport back on Friday. So putting my thinker to work, I came to the conclusion that maybe, just maybe, it had arrived at the other airport and just hasn’t been updated because of the weekend. Well, it turns out I was right, as the package was in today! And what was that package? Well, it was an MSI Optix 32inch 4k curved monitor!

Back in August I bought a 3080 because I knew that I would eventually want to get into 4k gaming on the PC. It’s why I opted for that and not a 3060. So when I came across some extra $ I figured it was time to put the 3080 to work and to purchase this monitor that I had my eye on for a while.

Now this isn’t a top of the line 4k monitor. Those cost an arm and a leg, and with that being said, I hope to eventually save up some $ to buy one. But this monitor is only 60hz. This wasn’t a big killer for me as the samsung 32 inch monitor I had was about the same. And since I don’t do a lot of competitive gaming, it’s something that I can live.

Now my previous setup consisted of two monitors. My samsung, and an old dell monitor that is only about 12 years old. Having dual monitors is pretty handy especially when it comes to posting on hive, as it stops me from having to constantly switch browser tabs when writing up a post.

Now don’t mind the mess of the above picture as I have been cleaning but just didn’t get around to cleaning my gaming station up. With the MSI I was able to retire the old monitor and instead use the samsung as a second one, which is going to be amazing. The small monitor was good for what it was, but the size of it made looking through folders for certain things a pain in the ass and made split screening it too much trouble.

But let’s get back to the MSI. The MSI does have HDR, but apparently it’s not exactly the best. I haven’t played any games yet so I can’t honestly say how good it is compared to my 4k tv. But right now the image is a lot sharper and crisp than it is on my Samsung. In fact when I glance from the MSI to the Samsung, the Samsung seems dull.

There is something that I do have a problem with, however. One of the reasons I decided to get a 32 inch monitor ( technically it’s 31.5 inch) is because my samsung was about the same length, so I expected something with the same dimensions as that. However, I was wrong. The samsung is longer width wise, however the MSI is taller. This was just a stupid oversight on my part.

However this is also good as if it was the same size length wise I don’t think it would fit on my desk. My original plan was to buy a separate stand that would fit under my desk for my PC. This here would free up a lot of desk space, and in fact it was my plan until a few days ago. But things change.

It turns out that I might be adopting my sister’s dog. The only problem is the dog isn’t exactly trained the best and is known to use the washroom in the house, in fact my sister warned me of this problem. So the last thing I want is having my PC near the ground and having the dog lift its leg up and pissing on it.

So I have to figure out another way to make more desk space. And I think I found it. A portion of my desk is taken up by the samsung’s stand. So I think what I might do is by using a monitor arm I can clamp on my desk and attach the samsung to it. That way there will be more room on my desk.

And after that, or before it, I need to figure out something for cable management. I’ve got a bunch of cables running behind my desk as you can for numerous things, my monitors for one, my 3 lights for recording, my mic, and the basic chords just for my PC. So coming up with a creative way to hide them should be fun!

But I do hope that this monitor will make some more of my gaming content look more clean. I think I may have mentioned this before but without HIVE I never would have gotten into PC gaming! So it’s just another thing I owe to this awesome thing!

¿Qué está pasando chicos? Si leyó mi publicación de ayer, sabría que estaba esperando que un determinado paquete llegara por correo hoy, sin embargo, ¡me preocupó un poco que pudiera no haber llegado! Sin embargo, pensé que podría haber sido solo un mensaje automático, ya que el seguimiento aún decía que salió de un aeropuerto el viernes. En agosto compré un 3080 porque sabía que eventualmente querría jugar a 4k en la PC. Es por eso que opté por eso y no por un 3060. Entonces, cuando encontré algo de dinero extra, pensé que era hora de poner a trabajar el 3080 y comprar este monitor que tenía en la mira desde hace un tiempo.

Ahora bien, este no es un monitor 4k de primera línea. Esos cuestan un brazo y una pierna, y dicho esto, espero eventualmente ahorrar algo de $ para comprar uno. Pero este monitor es solo de 60hz. Esto no fue un gran asesino para mí, ya que el monitor Samsung de 32 pulgadas que tenía era casi el mismo. Y como no hago muchos juegos competitivos, es algo que puedo vivir.

Ahora mi configuración anterior constaba de dos monitores. Mi Samsung y un viejo monitor Dell que solo tiene unos 12 años. Tener monitores duales es bastante útil, especialmente cuando se trata de publicar en Hive, ya que evita que tenga que cambiar constantemente las pestañas del navegador cuando escribo una publicación.

Ahora no te preocupes por el desorden de la imagen de arriba, ya que he estado limpiando pero no pude limpiar mi estación de juegos. Con el MSI pude retirar el viejo monitor y en su lugar usar el Samsung como segundo, lo que va a ser increíble. El pequeño monitor era bueno para lo que era, pero su tamaño hacía que mirar carpetas en busca de ciertas cosas fuera una molestia y hacía que la pantalla dividida fuera demasiado problemática.

Pero volvamos al MSI. El MSI tiene HDR, pero aparentemente no es exactamente el mejor. Todavía no he jugado ningún juego, así que honestamente no puedo decir qué tan bueno es en comparación con mi televisor 4k. Pero en este momento la imagen es mucho más nítida y nítida que en mi Samsung. De hecho, cuando miro del MSI al Samsung, el Samsung parece aburrido.

Sin embargo, hay algo con lo que tengo un problema. Una de las razones por las que decidí comprar un monitor de 32 pulgadas (técnicamente es de 31,5 pulgadas) es porque mi Samsung tenía aproximadamente la misma longitud, así que esperaba algo con las mismas dimensiones. Así que lo último que quiero es tener mi PC cerca del suelo y que el perro levante la pata y mee encima.

Así que tengo que encontrar otra manera de hacer más espacio en el escritorio. Y creo que lo encontré. Una parte de mi escritorio está ocupada por el soporte de Samsung. Así que creo que lo que podría hacer es usar un brazo de monitor que pueda sujetar en mi escritorio y conectarle el Samsung. De esa manera habrá más espacio en mi escritorio.

Y después de eso, o antes, necesito encontrar algo para la gestión de cables. Tengo un montón de cables corriendo detrás de mi escritorio para muchas cosas, mis monitores para uno, mis 3 luces para grabar, mi micrófono y los acordes básicos solo para mi PC. ¡Así que encontrar una forma creativa de ocultarlos debería ser divertido!

Pero espero que este monitor haga que algunos de mis contenidos de juegos se vean más limpios. Creo que puede que haya mencionado esto antes, pero sin HIVE nunca me habría metido en los juegos de PC. ¡Así que es solo otra cosa que le debo a esta cosa increíble!
