New Game on Hive!

in Hive Gaming2 days ago (edited)

I was surprised to find out about a new game on Hive, called Crownrend, that started out only a couple of hours ago. It is an incremental game coupled with PvP (you can attack other players).

The game has been developed by @deathwing and @mrtats, and at first impression one could associate it as a genre to the early days Golem Overlord or TerraCorre, which have been quite successful on Hive.

I believe it's important to start early in these type of evolutive/incremental games, that's why I'm writing this post practically as soon as I found out about it myself and joined, a couple of minutes ago.

There is a fee of 10$ worth of Hive to start, but if GO and possibly TerraCore (but I'm not as "advanced" over there to compare) are any indication of the potential success of the game (not guaranteed obviously), then you should be able to recoup the fee and then play from profit after a while. It's up to you, your consistency, and your compatibility with games where you may get attacked by other players and lose some of your unclaimed resources.

Personally, I love this type of games. Not too time-consuming, with a sense of progress, and with some unexpected introduced due to attacks, both positive and negative.

The success of the game will probably depend on many factors, from balancing rewards so that there isn't created a huge discrepancy between players, to avoiding constant farming of the same players by the same people (sometimes unintentional), especially as they start out, to finding the economic incentives for players to keep/burn a good part of their rewards instead of dumping them on the market as soon as they are claimed, to incentivizing people to level up instead of farming lower levels, and so on.

I'd better go claim my rewards, lol. And maybe raid a few people.

If you want to join, I'd appreciate using my referral link:

P.S.: Here's a beginner's guide for the game from one of its creators. I've just discovered it myself.

Thanks for highlighting this new game, always looking forward new games on hive - used your link 👍

Thanks! Appreciate joining with my ref link. I read through the discord and we are about 16h since the launch. But they had a beta test version before and it seems a few people are ahead. Anyway, we are very early.

Yeah, jumped in and upgraded across the board now I’ll have a look at what others are doing and see what tactics are

Tactics seems interesting. If your raid is intercepted (speed plays a role), you lose a portion of your unclaimed denars, as the attacker.

Btw, I sent 50% of the ref commissions I received back to you. 😉

Im thinking Army Speed Army Tactics will be good plays to keep the Denar in your coffers early on but only time will tell and Thanks for the 50%!

I'm thinking at first all of them need a little boost. We'll see later how we balance them based on play-style.

Have started playing today as well! :)

Nice! I love these small games. I probably wouldn't get bored if we'd have 10 of them on Hive, lol.

Yeah, so far so good! Hehe!

I'd better go claim my rewards, lol. And maybe raid a few people.

May you claim many lucrative rewards... and don't raid me. :-)

Thanks!

and don't raid me. :-)

That's a bit of a problem for me. I often do this without thinking, automatically. And after I hit raid/attack/whatever the button says in these games, I sometimes remember and look: "Hey! Who did I just attack?" Sometimes it happens that I attack friends just because they turn out to be at the top of the page with the most unclaimed rewards... I feel sorry afterwards, but if I didn't, someone else would have attacked them anyway.

I'll have to take a look at it over the weekend when I have more free time. I think it wouldn't be too hard to recoup things and if it's idle like Terracore or GO, then it wouldn't take much time either.

if it's idle like Terracore or GO

Exactly like that. It matters the price of Hive too, since the price is in dollars. If HIVE drops a little more, you'd pay more HIVE.

The fact that there is a free $10 worth of Hive to start off with makes it make sense

No... You have to pay 10$ worth of HIVE to play. But the amount is recoup-able relatively easy, if you know this type of games. And they don't need much time to play. A couple of minutes every day.

@gadrian! @ironshield likes your content! so I just sent 1 BBH to your account on behalf of @ironshield. (16/100)
