I have been introduced to a new game on Hive today by a post from @gadrian, CrownRend, which you can find details of in the beginners guide from one of the creators, @mrtats.
When you sign up, cost is $10, you get 10 Denar (one of the game currencies) which I used to upgrade across the board so I was keeping up with other players and looked like the best thing to do until I get a chance to look more into the tactics of the game and see how things progress with other players.
My thoughts going forward are adding to Speed and Toughness in the early game to protect my unclaimed Denar, but lets see..
As soon as you create your kingdom you start earning more Denar and can check where this is coming from by hovering over the UNCLAIMED header which shows how many Denar a second you are earning from your domain, this can be claimed every two hours currently. The base income is provided by your mine level, the trade bonus comes from items and the tax efficiency comes from its domain stat - I already upgraded mine.
Another way to earn Denar is to raid other kingdoms, you begin with 8/8 charges and regain one every 2 hours. Raids compare your armies strengths and abilities to provide a winner, although so far it seems to favour the attacker as I haven't lost in 10 battles (perhaps just lucky!)
You can see the results of the raids in the battle log which shows you the defending army, how much you stole (if you won) and the intercept/steal/critical stats. Intercept and Critical calculations look at the relevant stats to provide a percentage chance and if the number is below that then you are successful.
You can find items in the inventory but i'm a way off buying chests yet and there are none on the market yet so i cant really give any info on those other than that the increase army and domain stats.
I'm looking forward to seeing where the game goes and going to be raiding my way to the top of the leader board! - currently sitting in the top 10, lets see how long that lasts
Its going to be fun waking up to see if I have been attacked and getting some raids in before work.
