Hi there. In this short post I cover Mega Skarmory ex from the Japanese set Nihil Zero. This Pokemon set releases in Japan on January 23, 2026. The English cards of Nihil Zero releases sometime in March 2026.
Mega Skarmory ex is a Mega Basic Pokemon of the Metal typing. This has 260 HP, a zero retreat cost, Lightning weakness and Fighting resistance. Most Metal Pokemon have Fire weakness but Mega Skarmory does not as it is classified as a bird with Lightning weakness.
The Sonic Ripper attack requires 2 Metal Energy and one Colourless Energy to deal 220 damage to any 1 of your opponent's Pokemon. The drawback is that you shuffle all Energy from this Pokemon into your deck.
Note that you cannot attack Tera Pokemon on the Bench. Tera Pokemon prevents damage from attacks when they are the bench. Examples of Tera Pokemon are Teal Mask Ogerpon ex, Terapagos ex, Dragapult ex and Charizard ex.

There is Metal energy acceleration support in the form of Metang and Steven's Metagross ex. The problem with this Mega Skarmory ex is getting the energy back in play. I can see Mega Skarmory ex being a final game ending attacker. Other that that, this card has limited use.
