Such a fun game
When I started playing FarCry 6 a few weeks ago, I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not. This game plays a lot like the previous FC games, but it has improved on all of the previous games by making it one of the most seamless experiences they have put out.
The game's main nemesis is Antón Castillo, who rules the country of Yara with an iron fist and doesn't hesitate to kill anyone that opposes him.
Castillo is trying to make Yara rich by selling tobacco that is covered in a compound called Viviro that is claimed to be a cure for cancer.
The government experiments with its citizens with this Viviro compound and they kill anyone that tries to expose them.
So it is up to you to bring together several groups of guerillas on the island to try and overthrow this tyrant and save the citizens of Yara.
Along the way, you meet so many cool people and convince them to join the fight against the government.
One of the things I really liked about this Far Cry game is the bonds that you create with the different characters. Too bad so many of them die throughout the game, but it only makes the mission to overthrow Castillo that much more important.
With a lot of the previous Far Cry games, I would play through the different sections of the map before moving onto the next one. That would usually make me pretty overpowered when I would get to a new area, but with this one, I tried to make sure that I was going around the map to the different areas and not outleveling the quests in those areas.
I think a lot of other people played the previous games that way as well, and I think they addressed it in this one by keeping some of the different quests locked until you have progressed through the other areas and have done quests all over the map.
That is important because as you progress through the story, you bring a bunch of different groups together and it helps the story flow correctly. It is really cool how all the different story lines all come together in this one because some of the previous games, the stories didn't line up that great.
I have been slowly dismantling Castillo's regime and getting closer and closer to freeing the people of Yara from his rule.
One thing I really like about this game is the crazy turns that the story can take. Like this one here where the leader of the guerilla group Libertad was killed by Castillo and that allows you to fill her shoes and take the leadership of all of the different groups that you have been working on bringing together.
So now, I am preparing my forces for an invasion to take out Castillo once and for all. I am not sure how many hours I have put into this game so far, but I know it has been quite a few. I have even bought a few other games since I started playing this one, but I always end up coming back to Far Cry 6 because it is so good.
One of my favorites aspects of the game is how incredible it looks and how it really pulls you in and immerses you in the world, from the amazing graphics to the perfect sound design within this game.
If you have played the other Far Cry games, and have been on the fence about this one, I highly recommend you get it. It takes everything that you love from the previous games and builds on it.
This one doesn't have a lot of wacky missions like some of the previous games did, but one of the funnest missions was when you were trying to unlock your Amigo named Chicharrón.
Chicharrón is a massive punk rock rooster that hates Castillo's forces and tries to kill as many of them as he can. I think with the DLC content that will be coming out for this game, that is where we will get some of the crazier missions.
Overall, this is a really fun game and I can't wait to see what happens next. Hopefully you are able to influence Castillo's son into leading Yara in a better direction than his father has.
@derangedvisions you really brought this game to life by showing the screenshots and describing the action. It does indeed sound like a good game. Wish I had the time and energy to get involved with another one!
Thanks. This game is a to of fun and has so much to do. I know what you mean about not having time to get into other games. That's how I feel with games when I am playing MMOs. Those take up all my time.
This sounds good. Far Cry 3 is currently the last Far Cry game/episode I played, and that video game provides an unforgettable adventure with Vaas Montenegro. Such an iconic character. The third Far Cry is probably the best from this series, and probably it is amongst the best video games. I saw only photos and videos from other Far Cry episodes, including the Far Cry 6. Nowadays I do not have a PC/laptop, so I am not going to play other Far Cry episodes in the near future.
FC 3 was good, but you are missing out with this one.
Far Cry 6 is a really immersive game - the design is fantastic, and is really brought to life with how well it's animated.
Glad to hear how much you've enjoyed playing it, @derangedvisions
