I bought and played Monster Hunter: Rise for a bit, here's are the things I want to highlight.

What's up! it's steam autumn sale and this is one of the games we bought.

Monster Hunter: Rise.

Basically for what I can tell, Monster Hunter: Rise is a videogame about hunting monsters, taking materials from said monsters, and crafting stuff from the materials taken from said monsters, And that it is a fun multiplayer game.

And so we tried the demo.

and went straight to multiplayer without knowing what.

It worked flawlessly. Characters are premade.

And we don't know what we are doing. It took us close to an hour to kill this boss.

I searched the internet for answers, and apparently multiplayer have the monsters' health ramp up, that and the premade gear sucks. But it is fun and didn't have a connection issue so ultimately we decided to buy it.

You get to create your character, a doggo, a cat and a bird. you get to name them as well.

Customization is okay.

you can also choose a selection of coat patterns and voices.

They are cute.

After installing the full game, the first thing we checked was the multiplayer.

You can play with other players, the game has matchmaking. if you want a more private setup, you can create your own lobby and add a password, then you can invite your friend using steam's friend list 'invite lobby'. they still have to go to this NPC to accept the lobby invite though.

We tried a few hunts and called it a day, and that's where I explored the singleplayer content and oh boy, the same big monsters took only 15 minutes to hunt.
that's when I accepted, multiplayer is definitely for recreational fun with your friends.

So, the object of the game, to hunt monsters and collect their stuff.

which allows you to craft stuffs.

which allows to you harder monsters for their stuff.

You can also craft consumables on the field.

I see a pattern here and I don't mind, It's a tried and true formula after all.

I like this, a database on where to find materials.

combine that with this super detailed map and we have a non-stressful grind.

There are also other things that I want to mention.

you can mount your doggo.

you can mount monsters.

you can use this grappling hook bug thing to traverse difficult landscapes.

before going to a mission you can eat skewered dumplings with the buffs you like.

and there's a manual about weapon controls.

and that's all for now. So far I find the single player enjoyable, the grind is okay, and taking a stroll on a selected biome to collect stuff is relaxing.

It's nice.
