For a limited time period, Pixels Dungeons, a play and earn mining game with a PvP twist, is available to anyone and everyone! Built by a third party developer, Pixels Dungeons is officially endorsed by the Pixels team and even has a portal in town within the Pixels game. Playing Pixels Dungeons is free, though you can also spend some PIXELS tokens to enter the higher level dungeon which has more rewards.
How to Play Pixels Dungeons?
The game is pretty simple overall. Use W-A-S-D to move around, click on crystals when you're next to them, and try not to wake up the goblins. There is one big twist though -- TNT. Right-click on an adjacent square to drop TNT which will explode after a quick countdown, killing anyone (including yourself!) in its blast radius. And yes, I learned this the hard way!
You only get 10 attempts at the free dungeon per day, though you can also purchase Pickaxes with PIXEL tokens, which give you access to higher level dungeons with a greater amount of PIXEL rewards.
The object is to collect as much PIXEL as you can, while surviving for two minutes. If you do so, the PIXEL is transferred directly to your Ronin wallet. But if you die (through goblin or lava or TNT), you lose all your PIXEL tokens, and drop a bag which other players can pick up.
I tried it for the first time today and despite dying many times figuring out how to play, I earned 0.39 PIXEL over my 10 attempts. Which is only about three cents, so you won't get rich by playing for free. But you can purchase 400 Pickaxes for 20 PIXEL, which gives you entry into the higher level dungeons where you can harvest more rewards.
