AI agents are hot right now, with numerous projects racing to get their projects in the spotlight. One of those AI agent platforms, Virtuals.io, has partnered with Illuvium to bring AI agents into the Illuvium world!
It's unclear exactly how Illuvium will use these agents in their games, though they mention AI-driven strategies, personalized player experiences (potentially through personal AI companions or an AI 'dungeon master' who helps craft and guide your in-game story), and AI assisted decision making to help streamline interactions (AI helper perhaps?).
Whatever the case may be, Illuvium is joining the ever growing game development crowd (Today, Parallel Colony, AI Arena, AGIX, many, many more) that's looking to improve or enhance gaming through the use of AI. And it seems that web3 gaming will be at the forefront of this AI shift, so keep an eye open! Both Illuvium and Virtuals.io already have a significant presence in the blockchain space, so it will be interesting to see how this partnership bolsters these projects.
What is Virtuals?
Virtuals is an AI generation and management platform for social facing, autonomous, AI agents. Anyone can create their own AI agent. These agents can interact with various social media platforms, manage their own crypto wallet, interact in 3D spaces, and more.
Each agent has their own token. And as the Agent's token increases in value, so does the abilities of the agent. Those who own an agent's token can also potentially share any revenue that agent might make, though each agent has a different agenda depending on how their creator configured their settings.

What is Illuvium?
Illuvium is a selection of games set within the same sci-fi universe. The main game, Illuvium Overworld, is an open-world RPG adventure game. Players journey across a vast and strange world to gather resources and to hunt and capture Illuvials, native creatures with special powers. Together with their tamed Illuvials, players are tasked with discovering what caused the cataclysm that shattered the world. Players can buy, sell, and trade Illuvials and game resources on IlluviDex, the game's official marketplace.
Illuvium Arena is an auto-battler game where players use Illuvials in PvE and PvP contests. Some of the game modes give everyone access to all Illuvials or the same selection, while others only let you use Illuvials you own.
The third game is Illuvium Zero, a land-based builder game. Here players can build up their base and harvest fuel, a resource that players need in the main Illuvium game to visit higher level zones.
There is also Illuvium Beyond, a PFP collecting and editing activity. All of the Illuvium games connect to the Immutable zkEVM network and use the Immutable Passport for login. They are all also free to play.
