Let's play survival: Custom Trees

You might have wondered how to make your base look organic and natural at least once in your Minecraft Gameplays. Maybe your base looked too rugged and messy, and you wanted a breathe of fresh air and scenery.

Well, I can totally shout in your ears: MAKE A CUSTOM TREE!!!
because nothing goes wrong in custom trees. You can make it look wonky and it will still blend with the surroundings, no matter the size. You can also customize it all you want.

In this episode, I will show you guys a quick tutorial on how to make a custom tree for starters.

But first of all, you need a solid plan on where to summon the trees. Maybe, start with pathways like what I did:

Mapping pathways and structure layouts helps you visualize an image of what your area will look like once everything is built. Will the tree hide a structure at the back? Was the tree planted in an angle that doesn't compliment the surroundings? Mapping structures will do the job perfectly.

In my case, I only mapped out small layouts of trees (the cobblestone pillars) and small structures (the birch planks mapped in squares)

I also built this bulletin board so I will not forget about my future plans about my base, as I have the attention span of a squirrel and a brain of a goldfish.

Step 2

Start by building the trunk of the custom tree using logs. You can build it high if you are planning a tall tree, just however you like. You can also use wood fences to make branches pointing in different directions. You don't have to follow a specific pattern, you just have to let your imagination run wild.

Step 3

To complete the look of a tree, start by adding slabs and trapdoors for the details. You can use it as roots below the trunk.

Step 4

The most important thing of all, LEAVES!!!

Screenshot_2022-10-04-10-59-55-12.png
Don't be afraid to place leaves everywhere. You don't need a pattern, you don't need a certain rule, just place leaves and hope for the best. If you feel like it's too 'manmade' for your liking, then destroy the leaves and place another. Try to give it life and make it look natural, but not to the point of overdoing it. Small trees doesn't require huge leaves, where huge trees requires even bigger leaves.

And you're all set! You can now build how many you like.

This episode, however, is a mess. I just had my first ever death from a literal zombie apocalypse:

I don't have the sword in my hotbar, so I tried my best to enter the ming area for escape. But lo and behold, the death from a baby zombie. I died twice and almost died the third time.

One. Freaking. Heart.

So yeah. I guess this sums up today's episode. What do you want me to do a tutorial next?
