Hype for Mortal Kombat 1 is through the roof right now, I'm really excited about the latest stuff they've released in conjunction with what they've already shown with the gameplays, it looks like they're about to shake the foundations of a fighting game that's been releasing something new every few years since the 90s, a lot of iconic characters are coming back so I thought I'd make this post to talk about it a little bit.

I decided to make a short list of some of my signings and characters I want to see in the initial roaster of the game, I'm only counting the playable characters, not the ones that may appear as kameo or support characters, there are many clues that in this new release they are doing new things and experimenting to change the formula a little bit and one of the most important changes are in the characters that will be playable.

Mavado

This dude has been one of my favourite characters of the entire saga, the design he has along with the fighting style that uses the weapon of another iconic character such as Kabal (in the lore it is assumed that he killed him and stole his weapons) as well as his shuttles that bring a unique style to combat, his lore is promising as an alternative to the usual mercenaries in the game and in general I find him an underused character.

Takeda

Son of Kenshi and Scorpion's apprentice, I don't think there's a better combination for a character, he's part of the new wave of fighters we saw in the last two games and although he was already confirmed in the MK1 combat pack I'm still waiting to see if he'll have a part in the story knowing that we're looking at a reboot of everything, his fighting style I remember is one of the most striking of all MKX and the design is attractive too.

Taven

Another one that seems to have some place reserved in some of the future installments is Taven, son of Argus, who would give him the task of preventing Armaggedon, it seems to me one of the most wasted characters in the series, since the reboot of MK with the ninth installment we have not heard of this character knowing how important he can be, besides that I got fond of him with the Konquest mode that was a prelude to the story mode.

Havik

Chaos cleric would be another great addition to the roaster mostly because since 2008 we see no trace of the character, has a good moveset plus he comes from a realm which we have not visited too much, the chaos, could be an interesting addition also if they want to vary the story they are telling with Liu Kang, possibly a villain but for this position I prefer the character that follows him on the list.

Reiko

The perfect villain if we want to vary the story a bit, I've heard rumours that Shao Kahn will also be in the game but I want a new threat far from what MK has shown us, and I think Reiko, Shao Kahn's general and one of his most powerful units, can be an interesting counterpart for the heroes of Earthrealm.

I'll edit if I think of another character I haven't mentioned in the list but there you have it, I'm not usually excited for fighting games but MK1 has me on the hype train!

El Hype por Mortal Kombat 1 esta por las nubes en este instante, estoy muy emocionado con lo ultimo que han sacado en conjunto con lo que ya habian mostrado con los gameplays, parece que estan a punto de hacer temblar las fundaciones de un juego de lucha que lleva desde los 90s estrenando algo nuevo cada cierto tiempo, multitud de personajes iconicos vuelven asi que pense en hacer este post para conversar un poco de esto.

Decidi hacer un pequeña lista con algunos de mis fichajes y personajes que quiero ver en el roaster inicial del juego, estoy contando solo los personajes jugables, no los que pueden aparecer en forma de kameo o personaje de apoyo, hay muchas pistas de que en esta nueva entrega estan haciendo cosas nuevas y experimentando para cambiar un poco la formula y uno de los cambios mas importantes estan en los personajes que seran jugables.

Mavado

Este dude ha sido de mis personajes favoritos de toda la saga, el diseño que tiene junto con el estilo de pelea que usa el arma de otro personaje iconico como lo es Kabal (en el lore se supone que el lo mato y robo sus armas) asi como sus lanzaderas que aportan un estilo unico al combate, su lore es prometedor como una alternativa a los mercenarios habituales del juego y en general a mi me parece un personaje poco usado.

Takeda

Hijo de Kenshi y aprendiz de Scorpion, no creo que haya una mejor combinacion para un personaje, es parte de la nueva ola de luchadores que vimos en los dos ultimos juegos y aunque ya fue confirmado en el combat pack de MK1 aun estoy esperando si tendra parte en la historia sabiendo que estamos ante un reinicio de todo, su estilo de combate recuerdo que es uno de los mas llamativos de todo MKX y el diseño es atractivo tambien.

Taven

Otro que parece que tiene algun sitio reservado en algunas de las futuras entregas es Taven, hijo de Argus, que le daria la tarea de evitar el Armaggedon, me parece uno de los personajes mas desperdiciados en la saga, desde el reinicio de MK con la novena entrega no hemos vuelto a saber de este personajes sabiendo lo importante que puede ser, ademas de que le agarre cariño con el modo Konquest que fue una antesala del modo historia.

Havik

El clerigo del caos seria otra gran adicion al roaster mayormente porque desde el 2008 no vemos ni rastro del personaje, tiene un buen moveset ademas de que viene de un reino el cual no hemos visitado demasiado, el del caos, podria ser una adicion interesante tambien si quieren variar la historia que estan contando con Liu Kang, posiblemente un villano aunque para este puesto prefiero el personaje que le sigue en la lista.

Reiko

El villano perfecto si queremos variar un poco la historia, e escuchado rumores de que Shao Kahn tambien estara en el juego pero quiero una nueva amenaza lejos de lo que MK nos ha enseñado, y creo que Reiko, general de Shao Kahn y una de sus unidades mas poderosas, puede ser una contraparte interesante para los heroes de Earthrealm.

Ya editare si se me ocurre otro personaje que no haya mencionado en la lista pero ahi lo tienen, no suelo estar emocionado por los juegos de pelea pero MK1 me tiene subido en el tren del hype!
