[ESP/ENG] Diablo 2: Resurrected, the return of evil. (Review)

Hola amigos de la comunidad espero que tengan un excelente inicio de semana, quiero disculparme por estar ausente tantos días pero tengo una buena excusa, ¡tengo Omicron! he estado en cama sin poder moverme demasiado y apenas empiezo a sentirme mejor. El día de hoy quiero traerles uno de los juegos que marcó mi infancia y es que aunque no lo jugué de niña, si llegué a ver a mi padre y a mi hermano jugarlo en el computador de la casa, lo que más llamó mi atención la primera vez que lo vi fue esa ambientación oscura y tenebrosa, esa música que parecía como si rsgaran una especie de Mandolina y por supuesto, el estilo gráfico. Luego cuando tuve digamos unos 15 años más o menos busqué el juego y lo probé por mi cuenta, sobra decir que me encantó y me lo terminé, estuve varias noches desvelada repartiendo coscorrones a los demonios del señor oscuro. Cuando se anunció esta version "Resurrected" no pude sino emocionarme al ver los cambios gráficos. En esta Review me centraré en los cambios de este Remaster con su versión original y si vale la pena o no.

Hello friends of the community I hope you have an excellent start of the week, I want to apologize for being absent so many days but I have a good excuse, I have Omicron! I've been in bed without being able to move too much and I'm just starting to feel better. Today I want to bring you one of the games that marked my childhood and although I didn't play it as a child, I got to see my father and my brother playing it on the computer at home, what caught my attention the first time I saw it was that dark and gloomy atmosphere, that music that seemed as if they were playing a kind of Mandolin and of course, the graphic style. Then when I was about 15 years old I looked for the game and tried it on my own, needless to say that I loved it and I finished it, I spent several sleepless nights giving a slap to the demons of the dark lord. When this "Resurrected" version was announced I couldn't help but get excited when I saw the graphical changes. In this Review I will focus on the changes of this Remaster with its original version and if it is worth it or not.

Nada más iniciar el juego nos damos cuenta de que todo ha sido rehecho, incluso los carteles de los desarrolladores, todo presenta un acabado nítido totalmente y es que este remaster nos permite jugar hasta a resoluciones 4k lo cual si tenemos un monitor que acompañe esta característica se ve increíble. Incluso las cinemáticas se han realizado desde cero lo cual hace notar el mimo que se le ha puesto a esta entrega, si las cinemáticas originales te hicieron caer para atrás en la silla como me ocurrió a mí, es algo que volverá a ocurrir al ver el trabajo realizado en esta versión de Diablo 2: Resurrected, nada que envidiar a ninguna película CGI que hayamos visto en algún cine; el audio a pesar de ser el mismo que en el original también se ha remasterizado y es capaz de transmitirnos unas sensaciones inmejorables.

As soon as we start the game we realize that everything has been redone, even the posters of the developers, everything has a totally crisp finish and is that this remaster allows us to play up to 4k resolutions which if we have a monitor that accompanies this feature looks amazing. Even the cinematics have been made from scratch which makes you notice the care that has been put to this release, if the original cinematics made you fall back in the chair as happened to me, is something that will happen again to see the work done in this version of Diablo 2: Resurrected, nothing to envy any CGI movie that we have seen in a movie theater, the audio despite being the same as in the original has also been remastered and is able to convey a superb sensations.

Todo el HUD, las fuentes y los menús han sido rehechos mostrando un acabado mucho más moderno pero que no desentona en nada con la ambientación que nos atañe. Al momento de elegir personajes podemos observar también el trabajo realizado, efectos de luces, texturizado e incluso algún que otro pequeño rediseño a uno que otro personaje. La emoción de ver nuestros héroes favoritos del averno con un aspeto así de pulido es algo grato.

All the HUD, fonts and menus have been redone showing a much more modern finish but that does not clash at all with the environment that concerns us. When choosing characters we can also see the work done, lighting effects, texturing and even some small redesign to one or another character. The excitement of seeing our favorite heroes of the underworld with such a polished look is something pleasant.

En este remaster se han enfocado a la parte técnica casi por completo, dejando asuntos como el guión y la jugabilidad casi intactos, por ende empezamos en niestra querida Tristán o Tristram donde se nos encomendarán nuestras primeras misiones, conoceremos a las "Arpías" y les ayudaremos con sus encargos. En este pueblo también podemos realizar nuestros primeros comercios y como en el original, la salida se encontrará en un lugar u otro de manera aleatoria dependiendo de la partida que empecemos algo que a día de hoy es nada especial, pero que en su momento a mí me impresionaba mucho.

In this remaster they have focused on the technical part almost completely, leaving issues such as the script and gameplay almost intact, therefore we start in our beloved Tristan or Tristram where we will be entrusted with our first missions, we will meet the "Harpies" and help them with their errands. In this town we can also make our first trades and as in the original, the exit will be in one place or another randomly depending on the game we start something that today is nothing special, but at the time I was very impressed.

El juego sigue manteniendo una atmósfera y una ambientación oscura y tétrica, aunque se ha mejorado bastante la visibilidad y el rango de visión ya que hay que admitir que en el original estos dos aspectos se encontraban bastante reducidos probablemente por cuestiones de rendimiento, pero es algo de agradecer estos ajustes ya que nos permiten no tan solo saber mejor por donde andamos sino también para observar a nuestros enemigos desde una distancia más lejana.

The game still maintains a dark and gloomy atmosphere and setting, although the visibility and range of vision has been greatly improved, as we must admit that in the original these two aspects were quite reduced probably due to performance issues, but it is something to be grateful for these adjustments as they allow us not only to know better where we walk but also to observe our enemies from a farther distance.

Elementos como el fuego, el agua, los efectos de luz y transparencias han sido rehechas y ahora ofrecen un acabado mucho más detallado y llamativo que antes sin dejar a un lado el concepto ni las sensaciones originales, algunos objetos se han agregado a los escenarios para que no parezcan tan vacíos mientras que algunos otros se han modificado ligeramente para hacerlos más acordes con la nueva ambientación y paleta de colores. La mayoría de enemigos también se han actualizado para coincidir de manera más orgánica con los escenarios y su entorno.

Elements such as fire, water, light effects and transparencies have been redone and now offer a much more detailed and eye-catching finish than before without leaving aside the original concept and feel, some objects have been added to the scenery to make it look less empty while some others have been slightly modified to make them more in line with the new setting and color palette. Most enemies have also been updated to match more organically with the environments and their surroundings.

Un aspecto que puede resultar negativo para muchos es el que se haya mantenido el inventario original, con su reducido tamaño que le caracterizaba. Digo para muchos porque al menos yo he agradecido que se mantuviese este aspecto intacto pero si conozco uno que otro jugador nuevo en la saga que le ha encantado el juego pero se ha quejado de lo pequeño que es este inventario, llegando a ser molesto que siempre esté lleno sin llevar casi objetos y tener que recurrir al uso de cinturones para poder abastecerse correctamente de pociones. En mi humilde opinión creo que es algo que aporta de un límite al juego que no tuvo por ejemplo The Witcher 3 en el cual llevábamos el inventario repleto de cachivaches sin función alguna.

One aspect that may be negative for many is that the original inventory has been kept, with its small size that characterized it. I say for many because at least I have appreciated that this aspect was kept intact but if I know one or another new player in the saga that has loved the game but has complained about how small this inventory is, becoming annoying that is always full without carrying almost objects and having to resort to the use of belts to be able to properly stock up on potions. In my humble opinion I think it is something that brings a limit to the game that did not have for example The Witcher 3 in which we carried the inventory full of junk without any function.

Por supuesto y aunque todo es casi perfecto también se echan algunas faltas, por ejemplo me hubiese gustado que un juego tan mítico como este en esta remasterización contase con bocetos de arte que sobra decir que es bestial, algún documental sobre el cómo se hizo el videojuego también hubiese estado bien para escuchar las anécdotas de los desarrolladores y qué les llevó a remasterizar el juego luego de más de 20 años pero aún así nos quedamos con el juego a secas junto con su expansión. Aún así nada que achacar, y puedes comprar Diablo 2: Resurrected en Battle.net para todas las consolas de actual y anterior generación. Si eres un nuevo jugador y te gustan los juegos "Tipo Diablo" o Hack'n Slash o ARPG, te aconsejo que le des una oportunidad a una saga legendaria, y si eres un jugador con experiencia, te estás tardando demasiado.

Of course, and although everything is almost perfect, there are also some faults, for example I would have liked that a game as mythical as this in this remastering had art sketches that needless to say is beastly, a documentary on how the game was made would also have been nice to hear the anecdotes of the developers and what led them to remaster the game after more than 20 years but still we are left with the game along with its expansion. Still nothing to complain about, and you can buy Diablo 2: Resurrected on Battle.net for all current and previous generation consoles. If you are a new player and you like "Diablo type" games or Hack'n Slash or ARPG, I advise you to give a chance to a legendary saga, and if you are an experienced player, you are taking too long.
