it is impressive to see the settings developers create that will stick with a player. Games are a medium and they can spread awareness of aspects of life that many don't think of. I liked reading your experience with 'This War Of Mine', having characters with their own stories does add a connection point and helps give the player a better understanding of why the other survivors feel the way they do.

My 'Defining' game series was 'Metal Gear Solid'. The reasons why characters do what they do, the amount of knowledge the support characters impart during conversation, how important cardboard boxes are.

Playing games with depth can impact a player in ways many least expect. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
