The year is coming to an end, but before that, we have to celebrate Christmas first. And when it comes to Christmas, the Philippines is probably one of the top countries that celebrate it the longest.
Shopping malls here decorate as soon as October. And the amount of effort put into this extravagance is so significant that malls can be considered a tourist attraction at this point. One reason for this is that Filipino employees receive their year-end bonuses during this time and business owners put their best effort in order to attract those extra spending.
And since it's the weekend, we decided to have a quick trip to the mall and let our kids enjoy the festive mood of the holidays. I accompanied my youngest son to the play area while my wife and eldest son strolled around.
What I love about these playgrounds is that they are kid-proof. I don't have to worry about him running and suffering scratches and bruises when he trips because everything is padded. He can be playful to his heart's content while I casually look over him.
There are also interactive toys that he can play with when he gets tired of jumping and running and jumping.
A wide ball pit is also a must for children. I remember when I was also a kid, I thought that these were the coolest thing ever, next to the bouncy houses.
There's also a roleplaying section where kids can be a baker, pizza chef, and firefighter, among others. I found that my son takes a liking to this the most. Maybe he'd want his own business when he grows up.
It was surely an exhausting day for my family, but it was definitely worth it. I want my kids to enjoy these things once in a while. After all, they won't be young forever, and it would be nice for them to have good memories to look back on when they grow up.
Saya naman boss!
