Hermes' Revenge

My second feature on The Black Theater(my YT channel) uses Greek mythology as backdrop. The real inspiration of the story is my encounters with black cats.

I have always been wary of black cats. Misfortune really come my way when a black cat crosses me. I have learned to face another direction every time a black cat would seem to cross me so it would seem I wasnt crossed in front. I got to that level of alertness.

The worst part is, the misfortune comes in three, not just one. You won't believe me if I tell all the misfortunes I've experienced.

I'll tell you a recent episode, a day before a black cat crossed me while driving. Usually I don't mind if crossed while driving but I always stop when a cat crosses me to see if its pure black. This one was pure and had the greenest eyes I've ever seen for a cat. I know so because we locked eyes for about two seconds before the rascal jumped into the bushes.

That stare was really chilling. I had that foreboding feeling like this is a major one.

The next day on the way to driving wifey to work
my car's compressor broke down so I was driving without AC. Then when I got home a pipe connected directly to the main pump gave way so that means we'll have no water till the plumber fix it. I got wet by the way as I was hit by shooting water as I witnessed the moment it actually broke.

Then the guy from the power company paid a visit and said he was going to cut our power cause I forgot to pay. I usually pay on the 12th but for some reason that month it did state on the disconnection notice (which I never read) that they will disconnect on the 9th. No AC, no water, no power--waah!

All that in one day. Then the 4th that I can predict coming my way is the wrath of wifey after I told her what happened.

I shelled out 22k for the compressor, 8k to fix the pipes and 8k for power. This is just one episode.
I had other equally bad things happened after a darn black cat crossed me.

Back to the story. So every time I see a black cat I am truly wary. They are deep in my psyche. That made me ponder a bit though that what if the black cats were actually warning me. What if they were just crossing me so I'd be careful. What if they were really good-intentioned at the momenr they crossed me.

That line of thought led me to the story I created (shown on the video below).

So now I have a different outlook about black cats. I have one now. My cat though is not pure. She looks black but each strand is actually divided between black and white with the white part connected to the skin and the black part as the exposed part.
