I spoke too soon, not doing well post op

I am not doing well at all. I thought my pain was under control but that was only at the hospital. If taken as directed I only got 1 and a half days of a tiny amount of pain meds to last me 4 days .

I am in agony. I also have a 2.5 degree fever but since I run about 2 degrees colder than "normal", no one will believe me. They never do.

I had to fight insurance the past few days to get the blood thinner covered which they never covered. Now it's the weekend and I can't just go to the ER because no one believes women when they are in pain. 35 years of experience tells me that.

My wound seems really hot but I can't check it because it's all wrapped up and I am not supposed to. I am taking anti biotics to prevent infection but I don't think they are working.

So yeah. that's where I'm at.

Oh dear, I feel for you, I hope you feel better soon.

Recovery completely my friends

That really sucks, let the surgeon's answering service know, he may want to take a look.

Called them. They said exactly what I said in the post. They don't care until temp reaches 101. I am at 100.4 now -baseline at hospital before surgery was 96.8. I am supposed to wait it out in agony and see how it goes.

I also told them the incision site is red hot. No one cares. I am delirious with fever. I was instructed not to go to the hospital. Fun times.

Hopefully this will not turn into something more serious. 🙏

How have you fared in the couple of days since you posted this? Any signs of improvement?

I am not well. Severe pain. My incision site is burning up and I still have a fever. No improvement but not getting worse I don't think.

I begged to get antibiotics the day before because I am high risk for infections and immune compromised. The doctor didn't take it seriously, they never do and said I would be fine taking anti biotics after the surgery.

I told him not only do I always get post op infections these immune system issues have been know to happen in ME patients since at least the 80's.I encouraged him to look it up and read the research himself because he didn't believe me. If I were diabetic or had HIV my risk of infection would be taken seriously but since it's ME it's brushed off.

The doc on call this weekend specifically told me not to go to the hospital and I needed to wait until today to talk to primary care about the infection. At least it was noted that the nerve block didn't take at the hospital. I was given an amount of pain meds that were supposed to be for someone who the nerve block worked on. Once again I suffer do to other's incompetence. The surgeon never checked on me post op, so he never knew. The hospital told me to double up on the meds as prescribed but didn't tell me that I only had a day an a half of meds and even doubling up is still a low dose of post op pain meds.

I am really sick and have been in agonizing pain since early Friday morning.
