Hive Developer Documentation Updates

in HiveDevs9 months ago (edited)

There has been quite a lot of development in Hive core and documentations seem outdated and proposing update/incorporate new changes. Remove outdated services and fix broken functionality on Devportal https://developers.hive.io.

Timeframe

Approximately 7 months from the start of the approved proposal (2024-01-25 through 2024-08-25). I'm requesting 150 HBD per day.

Deliverables

  • Clear instruction on various ways to install and maintain api, witness, seed/admin/core, nodes. Git already has great instructions, unifying them in devportal would be great with some use cases (snapshotting, configuring, etc.)
  • HAF documentation incorporated, app examples unifying in single place.
  • Update API methods, deprecated ones and param changes, etc.
  • Adding/updating new services
  • Basic info on 2nd layers
  • If time allows, update and add new tutorials and recipes.

It has been few years since I worked on devportal added recipes and tutorials... Devportal is entry point for developers on our platform and we have responsibility to keep it up to date.

Thank you!

Hive devportal updates #297 SUPPORTED

It would help me a lot with the Hive custom GPT model if that was all updated. Glad to see you are potentially going to be working on it.

Informative post

Thank you for update! 🙏🏻

Awesome post and thank you very much for your hard work! We actually really appreciate it!

#freecompliments

This is really a great proposal

A very good reminder for other developers, too.
Voted.

Done, thanks!

This is nice and keep up the good work you do.

That' a wonderful idea.
I'm going to vote for that proposal shortly.
I hope that doc update covers up for hive-engine as well.
I wanted to automate some actions there and due to the lack of examples and changes descriptions, I had to reverse-engineer some libraries on github that have been abandoned years ago.

What ever you are doing, I'm supporting 👍 thanks for all you do for our beloved platform

Thanks for the update sir! I am excited to see what kind of changes there are. Haven't looked through the dev docs in a while.

When is Hive Mineable again???

There are no longer technical problems to do that.

Salve

Alucian

Hive is mineable now through content creation and curation.

No it is not Mineable. You know what i ask for.

There are no reasons to not switch back to the roots.

Hive is a slow Blockchain now. Also just DPoS.

"Nobody" has the Hive Blockchain on his Computer...

That is not a good way. I make me ready to loose everything i did here over the years.

I do work for a Alternative, becouse here is no longer a way forward to see-

That is just my thougt

Um... I realised that I cannot upvote the proposal via ecency app 😅
Will look at it when am in the office later.

Right, mobile app doesn't have that yet, hivesigner link could be used in mobile. We will add this feature sometime in future

Very important and I need this today, lol. I'm trying to spin up a node and what I'm finding is challenging to me.

Anyway, I fully support this and it seems like it should be popular.

How much progress reports are planned, biweekly or less? Breakdown of deliverables into time-trackable single items? In normal business this is kind of usual.

Good one there

Thanks you. Muchas gracias

This is absolutely needed, I Voted. I think we all have our own cobbled together docs, I have my own system setup docs, so a good source is a great benefit, can I ask you for a witness vote. I am a new witness and trying to work my way up the ranking.

I run my own my hardware, hosted here in Adelaide, and support all our local communities. Thanks again.
