MVP Ready - Work in Progress

The app is live! You can already check out my blog connected to my profile at My Honey Pot.

There's still a lot of work ahead, but everything is on track. The core functionality is working and I'm excited to share it with the Hive community.

From Screenshots to Reality

In my previous post, I showed you screenshots of what's coming. Now you can try it yourself - no more imagination needed, just click and explore.

You can browse around, test different settings, and even save your favorite configuration for later. Everything you see is running on real Hive data.

Open Admin Panel - How Does It Work?

The admin panel is fully accessible. Why? Because authentication uses your Hive posting key. Only the actual blog owner can save changes to their configuration. You can look around, experiment with settings, but saving requires proof of ownership.

This also means you can peek at other users' setups. All configs are public - just like everything on Hive. Found a blog design you love? You can use it as inspiration or even copy the whole setup to start your own.

Customization Without the Headache

Full customization might sound intimidating, but it doesn't have to be. You have options:

Ready-made templates - Pick one and you're done. Clean, tested, ready to go.

Randomizer - Feeling adventurous? Hit the randomize button and discover unexpected combinations. Found something close to what you want? Fine-tune it from there.

Full control - For those who want to adjust every detail, settings are available.

Where Is Your Config Stored?

Your blog configuration lives on the blockchain as a comment on my config post.

Two ways to update it:

  1. Edit the comment directly on Hive
  2. Use the "Save on Hive" button in My Honey Pot (recommended)

Simple, transparent, and fully decentralized. Your config, your control.

What's Next? Planned Features

This is just the beginning. Here's what's on the roadmap:

Post Editor
Choose between the classic editor you know or an enhanced new version with more features.

Interactions
Any logged-in Hive user will be able to vote and comment on your content directly from your blog.

My Honey Pot Community

Great idea!
Did you provide a link to start from (other than going to the admin section on your honeypot)?
No way, that I enter my private key on a site which I don´t know and which might be buggy. Unless you apply Keychain login, that´s a no go for me!

I haven't decided yet how to make the individual deployment available to users 🤔

The page I've shared is just for a preview of what it will look like, and I need to log in so I can easy edit the config, there is no need for anyone to log in there 😄

Regarding logging in, I'm currently using HB Auth, which is used in Denser. Don't worry, I'll probably add more login methods in the future. The great thing about this app is that you don't even need to log in to change your site's config because all information is stored in the blockchain as a comment. Once My Honey Pot is linked to your account, simply edit the comment with the config.

Sounds good.
