I find myself at times, longing for the days that I lived on the road, going to new places, meeting new faces. One day we could be next to the sea and the next we could find ourselves, parked up in the forest. I have had some of the best views from my home, views that were ever changing!
Ireland
This has to be one of my favourite park up spots in Ireland, for many reasons. Down in Garretstown, where we could park right next to the beach. It was not always easy to get this close to the sea, as many of the beaches have height barriers in place. We spend so many wonderful days parked up here, enjoying the ocean and the surrounding areas.
The view from our bus. It was so nice to fall asleep to the sound of the sea and then wake up to it as well. I loved nothing better, than starting my day, with a walk along the beach, which was usually empty. I would walk from one end to the other, climbing the rocks as I went along.
Whilst I was in Labour with my second child, I was walking on this same beach, with my eldest daughter and her papa. I needed somewhere more secure to park up for the birth and some friends offered us a space in their front garden. Which was perfect and she was born in the bell tent next to our bus, on the same night that this photo was taken.
This picture was taken when we visited the Beara Peninsula in West Cork, which is stunningly beautiful. This photo doesn't really do it justice. We parked here overnight after visiting a stone circle nearby.
France
When we were in France, we spend a lot of time in Ariege, which is in the South West of France. This spot above was south of St Girons, in the foot hills of the Pyrenees. It was so lush and green and it reminded me a lot of Ireland, only the Mountains are much bigger here.
We found a lovely lake, not too far from St Girons and during the hot summer months, it was a wonderful spot to park up at. I wish I could remember the name of the village that it is next too. They had a wonderful market on a Sunday, where my ex would busk. There was always a wonderful vibe there.
We also stayed on a piece of land, that had been purchased by a group of friends and they wanted to start a community. They invited us to come visit them, after we met them at one of the market's my ex busked at. The guy that was living in the red and white truck, made the most amazing bath, out of a keg. you can see it above.
We spend some of the winter months in a community, just outside Toulouse. There were many people living in vehicles and they were all super creative. They made a lot of steem punk sculptures. Me and my girls decorated the trees for Solstice, with popcorn and cardboard shapes that we made, covered in peanut butter and dipped in bird seed, so that the birds could eat.
We also spend a little bit of time, with a family that lived in the Mountains, they had a daughter that was the same age as our eldest and they invited us to come stay with them for a while. You can see my container garden on the table. That came everywhere with us, when we were living in the bus. I planted some of the veg out, when we stayed there. But after a while the open road called to us.
Morocco
I don't have many photos of our time in Morocco, we spend a lot of that time working on our truck. Trying our best to turn it into a liveable space inside. But I met some amazing people there, that really helped us out. This spot up above, this is where I suffered a Miscarriage. So it is more sentimental than anything else. It was on a beach outside of Rabat. It was a very difficult part of my life, but that view of the Ocean helped me greatly.
Come on, now you're just trying to make me feel bad right? 🤪
I was talking about nomading with my brother a few days ago, about rigs and equipment which is a conversation I enjoy because it brings me closer to actually doing it. Here in Australia there's so much open space and so many amazing places people will never see and whilst I've seen many, there's always another.
This post is nice, and it made me long for the open road, big skies and the sound of solince in far away places.
I'm sorry you suffered a miscarriage.
Not at all, just a bit of motivation to get you on the road.
I had a Toyota Hiace in W.A, my first live in Vehicle, Australia is a wonderful country to be nomadic, The West coast blew me away.
Thanks @galenkp xxx
The West sure is amazing, and there's few people there which makes it even better. Australia as a whole has a lot to offer I guess, although so do many other countries. So much to do, so little time huh?
You sure did have a lot of tour, seen quite a good number of places, and some beautiful, and of course painful memories alongside.
But if you loved being on the road so much, why did you stop?
I found a place where it is good to raise my girls and they have friends here now and so do I. I also would not feel comfortable driving our truck, it is too big for me, I need to get a smaller vehicle xxx
I envy you a lot reading this, you have been to different parts of the world traveling in your home and I can tell the comfort you felt despite moving from place to place.
Life is all about good and bad, and lots of beautiful memories you have shared, and the miscarriage can prove that. Sorry about the bad memories and I am glad you are fine, keep conquering...
Thanks so much @george-dee xxxx
You are welcome, happy new week to you.

You have adventured to so many wonderful places in your van, I think it's beautiful to have a home wherever you want to. I'm so sorry to read about your miscarriage, I can only imagine, but you are clearly very strong.
Beautiful skylines you captured, I would love to move around like you have.
Thank you @emma-h, I hope that one day you find yourself on the open road with your home. xxxxx
Hi Aishlinn
Thank you so much, it looks like it was very memorable for you.
Wow, you guys have visited some unbelievable spots!! Loving the photos... One of the shots from France is like a scene from the Shire in Lord of The Rings..
