We haven't had private healthcare since 2008, they are now using what was private companies to handle the government paperwork. The best doctor I ever had, has moved to subscription healthcare. You pay him $300 a month, and he takes care of whatever you need; in a private hospital.
It would be cheaper that the copays (taxes) on the government controlled healthcare system.
I plan to take care of my own, as I don't trust them any longer. If I had taken her in to a doctor last week, they would have cut her toe off....
The hyper testing is to avoid litigation primarily, but they do use it to keep equipment busy to help pay for them. You were in a liberally controlled state, and the quality of care is always lower there, sorry. No detectors here, too many citizens are armed and can put up defensive fire, shooters don't survive!
My Brother went to an Indian (tribal) hospital, and helped because they were short staffed due to federal funding.
I designed some therapy equipment over 30 years ago, and just bought an ultrasound and an interferential unit; both were still working, to use here. I'm sorry the diagnostic equipment was broken, limited maintenance and maybe poor design was likely.
With Obamacare, The dollar cost the feds were willing to pay for the new sensor was about half of what it cost to make the sensor. So with no way to even break even, my project was shelved. The numbers I gave you were for the USA only, as you guys, the UK, and Europe didn't have the funding to buy the system. Oddly, Israel did, and was interested; but they still don't have government healthcare. I have had several offers to move there to design medical equipment, due to my patents. We no longer lead the World on medical equipment and procedures here, now Israel does because they don't have socialized medicine; and can still afford medical R&D!
There were 6 companies in Tulsa were in business in medical R&D in 2008, one still exists, but they are doing oil field work. There is Zero R&D in the USA now, because there is no money in it! I have a design for a heart catheter that would make angioplasty obsolete, and save lives; but the development costs would be six million dollars on the low end. There is no way to invest this money, as there is no return; so more people die...one was my Father! My design would have saved him, but it wasn't ready....

I don't like Obamacare either, mostly because it is not a workable system. It still relies on using private insurance companies to provide care and the rich still get concierge care.
This subscription based Dr sounds good. That is very similar to what we have, except the $300 is already covered by what we pay in taxes.
There is no private insurance here anymore, it is simply what used to be private insurance; shuffling paper for politicians. As with all socialist systems, care is approved or denied based on panel reviews and excluded procedures.
They tried to kill wife almost 2 years ago, as a cost reduction measure. If I hadn't been obnoxious and adamant, they would have succeeded.
I am moving her to herbals, and away from western medicine; to protect her, when they decide to try to kill her again!
There is too much power contained in government controlled healthcare. They will use that power to control dissidents, or murder them; they can't help themselves! Your big guy just crushed the trucker protest, using methods that are illegal here...for now anyway. He will use medicine as a weapon, as soon as he figures out he can. I expect they will here too, when they can hide it from their victims here!
