The Alps
I love being up in the mountains although I don't always enjoy the winding trails up the mountain like Susten Pass here through the Swiss Alps. It's important to travel Susten pass in class. You either need a nice motorcycle or a small sports car.
The train is also a good way to travel through Europe, but there are some places the train cannot take you. That's when you ride the zip line. There is a reason the place is called Young Virgin.
The Grand Canyon
My birthplace is in the Americas, but this canyon was made for the whole world to explore. Some may say I came off season. That's just the right season for me. The weather was windy and there was a storm on it's way. In all of this, the Canyon stays still. That little river in the background is what formed this massive canyon.
I can only fit a little piece of the canyon in my lens. It extends for hundreds of miles in either direction.
Seoul
I live in the capital city of South Korea. It is densely populated, but in all the crowds you can always find a quiet place by going up. A beautiful river flows through the middle of the city and at the exact center of the river is a mountain known as Brother Mountain (Nam San). That mountain is surrounded by other mountains and that makes up the city of Seoul. The second photo is Inwansan a mountain near the palace. The third picture is some fun by the riverside.
Ulleungdo
Although we can find some rest and relaxation in the city, I look for other mountain and island villages to explore in Korea. A short two and a half hour boat ride from the mainland will bring you to the pristine island of Ulleungdo. It's worth getting a little sea sick to enjoy this treasure of a volcanic island.

Disputed Lands
There are islands nearby Ulleungdo which are disputed. Some of the first maps show this as Korean land. Currently one Korean couple and a dozen Korean police officers reside on the island of Dokdo. It is a beautiful and well protected nature preserve.
The third picture in this part is the Imjingang close to the Demilitarized Zone in North Korea. Active land mines are still being found in the river more than seventy years after the war.

Valleys and Deserts
The first picture is a valley in my wife's hometown in South Korea. It's green and everything is alive. The area has a very friendly feeling. The second valley is the famous valley we know from the valley girls, Hollywood and Universal Studios. This is San Fernando Valley. I visited after a time of heavy rains. Everything is green and looks beautiful. The picture is taken near the Mario exhibit at Universal and is looking north towards the Lakeside Golf Club and Burbank.
The desert pictures are from San Tan Valley. I'm not sure why our folks ended up out there, but they seem to like it. The Saguaro are the only plants I know that seem to perpetually flip off the world.

The Sea
There is a great contrast from Pacific Palisades to the fishing village along the coast in Tamil-nadu. Nowadays a house in Pacific Palisades is twenty million dollars. The fishermen don't in Tamil don't even have indoor plumbing.
They work hard risking their life all day. When they wake up they use the sea as their toilet. The strange thing about this place is I feel much more comfortable running on the beach here than in Pacific Palisades.

There's some good nature shots and scenery here mate. The city doesn't ding my bell, cities are rubbish, but the shots at The Grand Canyon are crackers!
Hahaha. I can hear your true voice in this message, a call from the outback.
So true as not one of those stones will be left on another. Nature will take it back. When I was young I thought it was the automobile that screwed everything up, now I know it's true and more.
Some pictures were added for contrast. Maybe I went overboard, but when you said different places I felt a certain urge to add them^^
Yep, I prefer small towns...less people and often surrounded by nature, in Australia at least.
Epic yo😯 The most I climbed are shopping malls 🥺
That DMZ does gave me a impression of going "into" the unknown zone. I've watched many YouTube content creator of the north country visits, I am too wish to visit that secret country. But, thinking of how Otto ended up, I don't feel safe at all as a foreigner paying a visit 🥺
I'm always impressed at your runs and from time to time think Malaysia is some tropical paradise where everyone speaks English well.
I used to think something could be done to open the border in Korea, but the border is such a buffer I don't see anything opening up soon. Otto was a very sad story to me. Their POV is so different that it would take a miracle to open the border.
That's a canyon and a half. I quite liked that city scape pic from the island even though I concur with the G-Dawg that cities in the main are rubbish! :OD

You're welcome, and than you in return for supporting the community with your post.
These pictures are great they are all beautiful but the ones of the grand canyon are my favorites.
Thank you @nill2021
I'm glad I had some landscape pictures to share. The Grand Canyon is a very special place. It was cold and windy when we came so the canyon looks different with some snow and overcast skies^^

Thank you. India is a beautiful country from my eyes.
Dokdo! I'd like to visit sometime soon. :)
It's hard to find a clear day. The sea was very choppy the day I landed there. You can only stay about twenty minutes and only near the docks. But I guess it's worth it if you can shout,
"독도는 우리 땅!!"
Oh I got two photos into this and hoped it was an entry for Outdoor Life! It's already a winner in my book. Beautiful. I can tell you are a man after my own heart, a nature lover extraordinaire. I'll have to hunt through my archives for something as spectacular but these days it's all with a phone which lacks the depth needed for spectacular.
Thank you for making me smile again @riverflows,
Looking at the news or even Instagram doesn't make me smile.
I wasn't sure what to post with Outdoor Life's Scenery contest so I just took a few good scenery pictures and explained them. I think if I did this again I would post a certain scenery and the in the same place a close up interaction with some of the nature in that place. There is the forest and the trees. They are both important.
I think most of the entries will be with phone pictures. It looks like @galenkp used his camera on the cover photos for Outdoor life. I saw some beautiful entries that followed. I think the word I got from G-Dog before I posted was:
Best to avoid both like the pestilence they are.
Most were taken with my Samsung phone actually.
Best for people just to be them, there's not much hope for those who want to be someone else, somebody is already in that skin. I don't expect photographer-quality photos, never do actually, just passion, personality and effort...and that people follow the rules.
Thanks for answering. I was curious because there was a lot of quality and clarity. I think I just need to wipe my lens with some lens tissue.

No worries, I don't always see when I'm tagged (I have a life off Hive believe it or not, lol) but when I do I generally reply when appropriate.
Break out the tissues.
I totally agree. For me the hardest thing is to post just one photo, or a landscape shot WITHOUT the details.
But if we are to just be us, I reckon we are just doing perfectly. I know that YOU are one of my favourite authors on HIVE.
I'm not sure if this is the right emoticon for blushing 😊.

Damn some awesome shots here! I didn’t realize a River ran through Seoul that’s cool. You’ve certainly traveled around quite a bit, that’s great! I’ve only flown over the alps and Grand Canyon but hope to visit both in more detail one of these days!
Hello @cmplxty
Thanks for the compliment, and a river does run through it.
That's what I say every time I fly over Alaska.
If your profile picture is correct, it looks like you can skate well. And skating definitely counts as traveling to another country.
Those are some great destinations :) Where will you be vacationing next???
