Recreational Outdoor eXchange (R.O.X.) — Where quality meets fancy

Hello, Hive!

It's been a while! Twenty-three days to be exact since my last post. Life happened and a lot of things (some good, some bad) pulled me away from blogging. I do, however, check in from time to time during my absence to read some of your posts here.

Anyway, I'm back now. I've had a few dayhikes since the start of 2024 that I haven't blogged about and, just recently, had my first camping of the year. But I don't feel like writing about them — yet.

So for today's post, I will be taking you to a place that plays a vital role in the life of every outdoor lover. And no, it's not in the mountains or the seas. It can be found within the city. You've probably passed by one along the road. Let's talk about outdoor shops.

What makes R.O.X. a crowd-favorite outdoor shop

It was September 2023 when I shared with you about Brown Trekker, the one-stop outdoor shop specially curated for beginners and budget savers. Last time, I took my colleagues here to show them the basic gears and accessories used for hiking and camping. However, with time and experience, we grow as mountaineers. Along with this, we explore other lines that provides better quality outdoor gears and equipments. While Brown Trekker stays true to its functionality and affordability, we start looking for those brands designed for longevity and maybe, with a little fancy — at least in Philippines standard.

This is where R.O.X. comes in.

Recreational Outdoor eXchange or R.O.X. is Southeast Asia's biggest outdoor superstore owned and operated by Prime Group of Companies. In the Philippines alone, R.O.X. has 16 branches, allowing more Filipinos access to some of the world's major outdoor brands.

Among the many brands that the company houses are The North Face, Columbia, Salomon, Deuter, Osprey, Headwear, Hydro Flask, Nalgene, Poler, Sea to Summit, Coghlans, and more. They also display some Filipino-owned outdoor brands such as Lagalag Exploration and 8a Performance.

The fun does not end in the mountains though as R.O.X. also houses brands that cater to other multisports such as Fox Racing, Quicksilver, Roxy, Billabong, Reef, and more.

It is, indeed, a heaven for enthusiasts who are into hiking, mountain climbing, trail running, camping, biking, rock climbing, surfing, swimming, diving, and traveling in general. From multi-day backpacks to waist bags, hiking boots to trail shoes, camping tents to board shorts, jackets to bikinis, bonnets to caps to helmets — there is something for everyone.

Reaching beyond in in pursuit of responsible outdoor adventure

In the recent years, R.O.X. has also broadened their reach by collaborating with established outdoor organizations in the Philippines such as MFPI (Mountaineering Federation of the Philippines Inc.) and event organizers such as Lakaw Ni Paw and Sugbo Adventours. The company's goal is to not only awaken people's thirst for thrill but also to promote responsible outdoor adventure.

As someone who has been hiking and camping for seven years, I could say that R.O.X is one of the trusted retailers for your outdoor needs. Most of the time, I do come out of the store empty-handed (poor me who cannot afford), but for those who have the financial means, you should give it a try. Not just their products but also their outdoor-related activities! 😁
