I'm a Suunto guy personally, but not for any other reason as the compass was there, the right price and comes with a sturdy reputation. I've found it very accurate for field use and have done many rogaining events without failure or fault. I've also used it, and diverse others, in other fieldwork with the same result. That is not to say the Silva wouldn't have done the job though. There it is. 👇
