I wanted to give you water, light, tenderness, but all my efforts were useless, I could not appease your roar with my song, and I walk away silently, like the first waters of a calm river, like the burning day trodden by the shadows of the night, like a few steps tired from the work of the day.

Quise darte agua, luz, ternura, pero todos mis esfuerzos fueron inútiles, no pude aplacar tu rugir con mi canto, y me alejo silenciosa, como las aguas primeras de un calmado río, como el ardiente día pisado por las sombras de la noche, como unos pasos cansados por la faena del día.
