Grand Theft Auto III: 10 Year Anniversary Edition (IOS/Android) - Milsonek's Review

Honestly, the technology surprises me. More and more often I look at technological innovations and I simply cannot get over the admiration that what I see is now possible. Especially when such titles as GTA3 remind me of recent times when this game did not even want to run on my home computer. Would I have thought then that today I would be able to keep it in my pocket on my phone? Of course not, and it certainly wouldn't occur to me that I would be steering without any physical buttons with the power of my mind. Okay, the virtual keyboard on the screen, but that's one step into the future :D.

Let me only briefly mention the game itself because it is not the game itself, but its mobile port, which will be the central part of this review. GTA 3 itself has aged gracefully and is still entertaining. The graphics are quite old, although if not for the really low-quality textures, we could turn a blind eye to it and call it well-styled.

Despite the passage of time, the game is really good, probably the PC version of the game has been ported. The game works perfectly on both iPhone, iPad, and Android.
Additionally, several features unique to mobile devices have also been incorporated. We can still save the game to save points like we've done so far, but Rockstar has taken it a step further, which mobile gamers will be grateful for. Now when we exit the game it will autosave and on restart it will bring us back to where we left off, as if we never turned it off. Let's move on to what interests us the most, i.e. touch control.

Rockstar has done pretty well enough. Each means of transport has its own version of the control panel. When we walk, we move a virtual analog, and when we get into the car, the screen shows - the gas pedal, brake, cursors, and a whole set of buttons helpful while traveling. On the iPad it looks quite tolerable, on the phone, however, as you can guess, the buttons clog most of the screen.

Walking is a bit worse, the virtual analog works, but it's far from ideal. However, shooting is the worst, unfortunately, the whole function comes down to one action button on the screen. We click the button and our character shoots. The problem is we can't aim. Instead, the game automatically selects the closest target, which, as you can guess, is extremely annoying. Was it not possible to implement touch shooting? The character could shoot at the targets we touch. If we could at least change manually to the targeted enemy, it would also be good.

In general, I have a fondness for this game and I do not rate it badly. The game is great, you get used to the controls over time. So every fan of this series will be pleased :).

Think positive all the time And see you in the next post!
