A couple years back, around 2018, the mayor built a beach side park near the commercial district and northern residential district, it looked great and attracted tons of people, money and development there. We regularly have shows from big name singers and bands from Brazil and it's a pleasant place.
However, it's hard to say it helped everyone. This town is quite long, so over here in the southern residential zone we were left with nothing until now.
The land where this new park was built was totally empty, it was all state owned and had nothing on it, so they finally put it to good use. No more tall grass and bugs.
It also made accessing the beach a lot harder, since the road leading up to it was completely destroyed, now there's a nice little passage and a very nice deck you can go to, so you can chill out or enter and exit the beach through there.
This road used to be hard to walk and even harder to drive through, now it serves as a nice parking space (since cars on the beach during summer are prohibited) and it's way better this way for pedestrians to access the beach. A total improvement.
This is a view from the deck's passage. The space where the park currently sits used to blend into those dunes with grass and sand.
I feel like they could do something to make this look even better, but it'd have to be without destroying nature, so I'm not quite sure what.
Regardless, it's a great thing to have here. The Southerm District seemed to have been mostly happened by the mayor, all we had were houses and convenience stores. I hope projects like these start to bring more attention over our way so the entire town can benefit.
It's still way better than the previous mayor who did nothing for 4 years.
Here's a photo I took the other day at night while taking my brother there to play with the other kids.
That wooden boat with Spanish crosses looks a little... Odd, but it's well made and quite cute. There are other things for kids to do there as well, all inside a sandbox that gets regularly cleaned.
Besides there, there are equipments for exercise, like an open air public gym. Nothing too fancy, but hey, it's better than nothing.
There's also an event center which you can ask to be used for parties and such, a sand football ⚽ field and a place to play bocha, which is a Brazilian sport kind of like bowling which I honestly have no idea how to explain, but hey, it's fun!
Overall, really happy with how this turned out. We might get shows here as well, since there's some free space with some very nice cut grass and some food trucks were already set up there.
Hi, this is a great posting, but next time would you please NOT crosspost but post directly into the communita. Thank you.
