The 2021 Rwanda Nautical Ounce Sedov
The Sedov set sail from Kiel, Germany as Magdalene Vinnen II in 1921 by the F. A Vinnen & Co shipping company. The beautiful four-masted ship traded hands after the surrender of Nazi Germany in 1945 and was renamed to Sedov, an ode to the famous Russian polar explorer Georgy Sedov. Today, the ship is considered the largest traditional sailing ship still sailing in the world. It is a beautiful example of one of the most beloved eras in ship building history. Source
The Rwanda Series is quite popular among collectors not only for their beauty, but also they have limited mintages.

Do you know Rwanda? Well, countries that are more or less stable, have mints of their own... they tend to have the same design throughout the years, and have commemorative coins that change every year. Rwanda does not have its own mint. They have to find a niche somewhere.

I think everyone loves tall ships @silversaver888, they are so majestic!!! We have the tall ship Zodiac with a home port in Bellingham bay. A beautifully restored Johnson and Johnson yacht from the original founders. In the Summer they have dinner cruises....😀

Pretty cool set of coinage there. Tall ships are so fascinating, yet I could never imagine how anyone ever survived on them for those terribly long voyages.

The Rwanda coins somehow always attract a following! I don't particularly care for the reverse. They are minted in Munich, Germany by BH Mayer.
But all their releases are successful. Tomorrow I will show another of the Rwanda coins.
