As I switched up the coin theme from strictly anime to anime and cartoons, my options have increased dramatically.
I keep on seeing some really nostalgic faces for even cheaper prices and it makes me wonder why I thought of strictly anime in the first place.
For example take a look at this face and tell me if you don't just see amusement, laughter and joy.
Sterling Silver Coin – Cartoon Characters: Yogi Bear (2014)
Yogi Bear was the first breakout character from the Hanna-Barbera productions. The character was first seen in 1958 in "The Huckleberry Hound Show" and after 3 years became more popular than the show going on to get his own "The Yogi Bear" show.
Yogi, a resident of Yellowstone Park, together with his companion Boo Boo bear, primarily acquired food by stealing picnic baskets from hapless campers. Being from the same creators of Tom and Jerry, it's no surprise that this cartoon is such an iconic one.
On the reverse side of the coin, Yogi Bear and Boo Boo bear are colorfully depicted enjoying some food most likely stolen from a camper.
While on the right side of the coin, a signature from the Hanna-Barbera production confirming the authenticity of the coin design.
On the obverse, a stylized image of a film reel with some cartoon characters depicted on it. Along the edges are the Elizabeth II, 1 Dollar and Niue Island 2014.
Despite the lovely design of this coin. It's low mintage of just 6,000, the silver value of 92.5%, weight of 14.14g the coin is priced just a tad over 41$.
It would be a lovely gift to any friend of old premium cartoons ✨
