Germania Mint 1oz Cast Silver Bar - Cast vs Poured

in Silver Gold Stackerslast year (edited)

I picked up this 1oz cast silver bar from the mail last week - shiny little piece of fine silver, produced by Germania Mint.

Cast vs Poured metal

Both types involve pouring molten metal, but Cast molds are closed with no open surface to the air, resulting in a consistent look to the surfaces. Poured metal molds have the top surface open to the air when poured, so the exposed side has more extreme cooling lines and textures compared to the mold surface sides. This 1oz Germania Mint silver bar is cast.

1oz Silver Stamped Cast Pour

The 1oz silver cast poured and stamped style bars from Germania Mint were first released in 2021. Each bar has serial number that is registered in Germania database, and has a hologram sticker with that serial number for authenticity verification. Germania Cast bars are produced with LBMA-certified methods to ensure high quality and purity.

The front side of the bar features the Germania bicephalic (two headed) eagle crowned logo, below the logo is the text "GERMANIA MINT", "999.9 FINE SILVER 1OZ".

The back side of this cast poured bar is blank, but has tiny dimples and imperfections from the cooling process.

Also on the back, stuck on the plastic wrap, is an authenticity hologram sticker with the Germania Mint logo as a hologram for authenticity verification with the serial number just below the logo.

Below are a few one ounce silver hand pours, the Germania bar, the Pit Bullion Hive round (design by @silversaver888), and the Monarch Precious Metals bar. The Hive round's logo and text were laser etched, while the other two bars were hand stamped after the metal had cooled enough.

The 1oz silver Germania Mint bar has a foot print that is 1/3 the size of a standard 1oz silver bar, but is 3 times as thick. A fine cast silver bar for the stack.

Have a great day!

I think this is a pretty slick poured bar as a considerably different bullion product from their regular bullion round line.

Germania does have a lot of epic rounds with swords, shields, beasts, and detailed designs :) they managed to keep this bar stamp classy with the eagle crest and crown, even nicer on a larger oz bar I'm sure :D

It is a thick silver bar, @mraggaj. I love the Germania Mint silver bars!

The 001 hive round to rule them all :) I like how the serial number is engraved on the larger Germania bars. I've got the odd sized MPM bars, I'll have to watch for the 2oz to complete the set :D

Did you notice that the Monarch bars, even if you keep it secure, tarnishes?

Not that i've noticed, the 1oz Monarch's been holding up great, the 3oz hasn't changed yet either and as far as I can tell it's looks were from being poured, I'll watch for it though :) the Germania does look like a more quality pour than the Monarch, especially seeing yours too.

It may not be the best 1oz ever, but thank yer lucky stars you know the difference! 👍

Drops of Jupiter right there — it takes some serious shit just to produce generic. And I espy a saver #4 hive dollup in the mix so looks like yer already miles down the road
🚀⚡️😎👍👍⚡️

I've been collecting the poured silver lately, this Germania helps round out the collection, of course the Hive round is my prized piece :)

#19 for me 😁🤩👍

You have created a Precious Gem!

Looking rich in silver. Its weight is seems to be great.

999.9% silver, a small light piece though, just 1oz, apx the weight of a silver dollar :)

Those are some cool bars, a lot of times you get
better premiums on poured and cast bars.

Especially with higher weight pours the price more goes to the weight, as bullion should be. Some fancy coins do seem to have extra high premiums, more for the collectors I suppose :)

I like your display...

Thanks, I try to give an accurate impression of what the precious pieces look like :)

I’m a big fan of the Germania Mint. They do really nice work.

I'm always seeing these silver, stamped bars of theirs, I had to grab one :)

This looks good
I am even trying to imagine how weighty this will be
I'm sure it will have a reasonable weight

Wow, what a beauty! Very pretty!

Very nice bar !! Love it
