$1 Utah Goldback / Reblog lottery

Since we're almost to the end of December, my reblog lottery is starting to come to an end. That means soon I'll do a drawing for one lucky person who will win either 6 HBD or a $1 Goldback. I was chatting with @bitcoinman and he suggested I do some posts on these, so here we go!

The state of Utah passed the Utah Legal Tender Act, which allows residents to pay debts in silver and gold, and transact in silver and gold coins without being subject to state capital gains tax. You can read more about it here.

Interestingly enough, anyone with enough money can request a Goldback for their state, region, country and lease it back at a 3.5% APR until they're sold. They even state they'll take ideas on the creation of the new Goldback and might implement some of your design submissions. Learn more about that here.

The obverse features the personifcation of Prudence as a Native, sitting next to a tree and a wolf.

Reverse(Source)

The reverse is a non-colored, mirrored image of the obverse. If you thought the front was shiny, this side is even shinier. 😉

While none of these are practical for stacking, and there are cheaper options for fractional precious metals for small transactions, they are certainly beautiful. They are fun to collect and give as gifts, but I would not recommend stacking them for weight or wealth preservation.

Each month, I give away a $1 Goldback or 4 HBD. The winner gets to choose.
Note: Some countries may have prohibitively expensive shipping or delivery, which may not be feasible. I reserve the right to award the winner 4 HBD instead of a Goldback at my discretion.

   Make sure it's for the current contest month, and is 6 days old or less, and click "Reblog".
   (Reblogging an older post will not get you an entry)
3. An upvote is appreciated but not required, and does not give you additional entries.
4. You'll get one entry for each qualifying article you reblog this way.
5. At the end of the month I'll enter your name into the drawing and pick a winner at random.
