When I was little, I got my first NES (Family Game) video game console, and it was the first technological game I ever had. These consoles weren't designed to install video games; instead, the cartridge connected directly to the device, so if that cartridge got damaged, goodbye game.
I remember being super happy when we went to the store to buy the console and some cartridges to start what would be afternoons of pure fun in front of the TV. Although it's not recommended, no one can take away the happiness I felt at that moment. I played many games, but in this post, I'll only mention the ones I used to play the most and the ones that gave me the most gray hairs because I lost all the time.
Cuando era pequeña me compraron por primera vez una consola de videojuegos NES (Family Game) y fue el primer juego tecnológico de toda mi vida. Estas consolas no eran para instalar el videojuego, sino que el cartucho se conectaba directamente al aparato, así que si ese cartucho se dañaba, adiós jueguito.
Recuerdo que estaba súper feliz cuando fuimos a la tienda a comprar la consola y algunos cartuchos para comenzar lo que serían tardes de pura diversión frente al televisor, aunque no es recomendable, la felicidad que sentía en ese momento no me la quita nadie. Fueron muchos los juegos que jugué, pero en este post solo mencionare aquellos que más solía jugar y los que más canas verdes me sacaron por perder a cada rato.

This Tom and Jerry game was my favorite. I think it was the one I played the most, but I could never complete it. Now that I've seen this video, I realize that I was very close to winning because I always got to the penultimate level without knowing it, but it was so difficult and incomprehensible to me that I never managed to beat it. Once, there was even a kind of BUG in the game that gave me unlimited lives, meaning I would never lose unless I restarted the game, and even then I couldn't win it, even though I tried hundreds of times.
Even though I never won this game, it was my favorite, and now watching this video makes me feel melancholic and nostalgic, remembering how pissed off I was with that level because there was no way to win it. It also makes me happy because it was so much fun and exciting every time I managed to beat a level and was ready to face the next one, until I reached the penultimate level and it ruined everything, but that's another story.
Este juego de Tom y Jerry era mi favorito, creo que de todos, fue el que más jugué, pero jamás pude completarlo y ahora que veo este video me di cuenta de que estaba muy cerca de ganarlo porque yo siempre llegaba al penúltimo nivel y no lo sabía, pero era tan difícil e incomprensible para mí que jamás logre superarlo. Incluso una vez se produjo una especie de BUG en el juego y me dio vidas ilimitadas, o sea, que nunca perdería a menos que reiniciara el juego y ni así pude ganarlo y eso que lo intente cientos de veces.
A pesar de nunca haber ganado este juego, era mi favorito y ahora viendo este video me pongo melancólica y me invade la nostalgia de recordar cómo me encabronaba con ese nivel porque no había forma de poder ganarlo y también me da felicidad porque era muy divertido y emocionante cada vez que lograba superar un nivel y estaba lista para enfrentar el siguiente, hasta que llegaba el penúltimo nivel y me arruinaba todo, pero eso es tema aparte.

The next game I played a lot was Chip 'n Dale, with the difference that I did manage to complete it. The fun thing about this game was that you could play it with two players, and I used to play it with my sister, but there was a drawback. Every time I got annoyed with my sister, I would take her character with mine and throw it into the void so she would lose her lives, and vice versa. Even though we knew that this would mean losing the game and ultimately the entire game, we did it anyway to get revenge in the most childish way possible.
Sometimes we lost because we were stupid, and what pissed us off the most was that we lost when we were almost at the end of the game and had to start all over again from the beginning because the games weren't saved. Even so, I have fond memories of this video game, and I still remember the background music and the malice of carrying the second player's character so they couldn't defend themselves or play.
El siguiente que jugaba mucho era el de Chip ‘n Dale, con la diferencia de que este sí logre completarlo. Lo divertido de este juego era que podías jugarlo de a dos y solía jugarlo con mi hermana, pero había un inconveniente. Cada vez que me molestaba con mi hermana, tomaba a su personaje con el mío y lo lanzaba al vacío para que perdiera sus vidas, y viceversa, aun sabiendo que eso implicaría perder la partida y al final el juego completo, lo hacíamos de todas formas para vengarnos de la forma más infantil posible.
A veces perdíamos por mensas y lo que más nos encabronaba era que perdíamos cuando ya casi estábamos al final del juego y teníamos que volver a empezar todo desde el principio porque las partidas no se guardaban. Aun así, tengo hermosos recuerdos con este videojuego y todavía recuerdo la musiquita de fondo y la maldad de cargar al personaje del segundo jugador y que no pueda defenderse ni jugar.

These Mickey Mouse games were the easiest of all the ones I had. The first one was difficult to understand and figure out how to advance to the next level, but once I understood it, the following levels, instead of being more complex, turned out to be easier than the first one. The first level was complicated because there was a trap: if you fell into it, one of the enemies would kidnap Minnie, and you couldn't continue without her. You had to find her and save her, but I didn't know how, and when I figured it out, it wasn't that easy to save her, so you could say that Minnie was just getting in the way in this case.
The second one was great. You didn't lose or win; it was just an adventure that you could play calmly without fear of losing and having the game restart. You just had to complete the journeys without the pressure of running out of lives, so this was another game I played a lot because of its fun and simplicity. I liked to make Mickey climb to the top of a tree so he would jump into the void from the height. Only his toto would break, but you could continue as if nothing had happened and keep playing calmly. From then on, I had evil in my feathered soul.
Estos juegos de Mickey Mouse eran los más fáciles de todos los que tenía, el primero me costó entenderlo y encontrar la forma de avanzar de nivel, pero una vez que lo entendí, los siguientes niveles en lugar de ser más complejos, resultaron ser más fáciles que el primero. El segundo era genial, no perdías ni ganabas, era solo una aventura que podías jugar tranquilamente sin temor a perder y que se reinicie el juego. Solo había que completar los viajes sin la presión de estar quedándote sin vidas, así que este era otro de los juegos que más jugaba por su diversión y sencillez. A mí me gustaba hacer escalar a Mickey hasta lo alto de un árbol para que salte al vacío desde la altura, solo se rompía el toto, pero seguías como si nada y podías seguir jugando con tranquilidad, ya desde ahí yo tenía maldad en mi alma emplumada.

This Aladdin game fooled me for several years. When I saw this video, I realized that I had bought a pirated version because instead of Aladdin, it was Popeye, and when I saw him flying on the magic carpet with Jasmine, I thought, “How cheeky, she's cheating on Aladdin with Popeye”, but now I understand that the one I had wasn't the original version. That's the only thing that changed because the levels and graphics are exactly the same, except with a protagonist who snuck into the story.
As you progressed, the levels became increasingly complex, and although I had a hard time getting through them and had to play them several times to familiarize myself with the dangers and tricks, this one is among the games I did manage to complete. It was beautiful, the graphics, the background music, it hit me hard in my childhood when I saw it again through this video.

Al ver este video comprendí que había comprado la versión pirata porque en lugar de Aladino, estaba Popeye y cuando lo veía volando en la alfombra mágica con Jazmín, pensaba: “Que descarada, está engañando a Aladino con Popeye”, pero ahora comprendo que el que yo tenía no era la versión original. This Tiny Toon game was one of the last ones we bought, and it became my addiction. Each level was designed to be completed with a specific character, and when I saw this video, I realized that I always chose the wrong characters, which made it even harder for me to win. Even so, I managed to complete it, but by choosing the wrong character, it took me longer to finish than if I had chosen the right one. It's a very cute game.
Today, I no longer have the console or the cartridges; they broke many years ago and were thrown away, but I still have memories of those afternoons I spent having fun with each of them and many more and thanks to the internet, I can remember them by watching these videos. I'm feeling nostalgic!
Este juego de Tiny Toon fue uno de los últimos que compramos y que se volvió mi adicción. Cada nivel estaba diseñado para ser superado con un personaje en específico y cuando vi este video me di cuenta de que yo siempre elegía a los personajes equivocados y por eso se me dificultaba aún más poder ganar. Aun así, logre completarlo, solo que al elegir el personaje equivocado, tarde más en superarlo que si hubiese escogido al adecuado. Es un juego muy tierno.
Hoy en día ya no tengo ni la consola ni los cartuchos, se estropearon hace muchos años ya y fueron botados a la basura, pero me quedan los recuerdos de aquellas tardes que pasaba divirtiéndome con cada uno de ellos y muchos más y gracias al internet puedo recordarlos viendo estos videos. ¡Me ha invadido la nostalgia!

Remembering these games in this post made you feel nostalgic, and in doing so you infected me too. I had a few consoles, very few, but the one you mention is one of them. Of all the games you commented and reviewed Aladdin is the one we share in having played. I remember my mother didn't buy the cartridges for us, we went to a place to rent them for the weekend. My brother and I would rent two or three with my brother and we would spend the afternoons playing with them, I loved it.
And it's true, many of them were so difficult that they seemed endless and I could never finish them, but playing with my brother who was five years younger than me and laughing was the most important thing. He was better at playing than me, I'll be honest, but we spent incredible afternoons, after having a snack.

En lugar de Aladdin, estaba Popeye de colado jajaja siempre me parecio extraño, pero ahora me doy cuenta que quiza compre la version pirata 😂 era emocionante tener un nuevo jueguito, siempre y cuando conectara porque una vez me compre uno de Jurassic Park y jamas conecto, lo cambie por otro que ahora no recuerdo cual jaja
En ese tiempo la magia estaba en que no estaba tan globalizado el internet y tenias que andar adivinando como continuar el juego o que es lo que debias hacer, hoy en dia si la tuviera, veria estos videos y ya perderia el encanto jaja me quedo con los juegos que no tenian fin ❤️ era la diversion del momento, merienda, jueguitos, enojo por perder ok no jaja extraño esos tiempos 💔
