Primero que todo permítanme desearles un feliz año nuevo, que este año que está por iniciar los llene de mucha dicha y felicidad, que cada mes esté cargado de buenas experiencias, bendiciones y aprendizajes, que Dios les conceda mucha salud, felicidad y abundancia. En estos días en que uno casi no tiene nada qué hacer es cuando aprovechamos de hacer maratones de películas o series, pero en mi caso estoy enganchadísima a un canal, del cuál no recuerdo si les he hablado en otras ocasiones, se trata de Ruthy San Family Vlogs, me gusta porque este canal de youtube básicamente nos muestra el crecimiento y evolución de una familia multicultural, ya que está conformada por un padre japonés y una madre mexicana. Viven en Japón y a pesar de que siguen los códigos protocolares y sociales del país, dentro de casa son como una familia latina cualquiera, así que es muy interesante ver como los niños han crecido entre dos culturas tan diferentes.

These days, when we have almost nothing to do, we take advantage of the time to binge-watch movies or series, but in my case, I'm completely hooked on a channel I don't remember mentioning before. It's called Ruthy San Family Vlogs. I like it because this YouTube channel basically shows the growth and evolution of a multicultural family, made up of a Japanese father and a Mexican mother. They live in Japan, and although they follow the country's social and protocols, at home they're just like any other Latino family. So it's really interesting to see how the children have grown up between two such different cultures.
Es fascinante conocer la historia de Ruth, o Ruthy, como la conocemos a través de los videos, ya que ella explica que cuando llegó a Japón recién casada y muy jovencita, con al rededor de 20 años, se sentía muy sola en un país extranjero, sin amistades y con su familia tan lejos, así que al principio ella inició el proyecto como una forma de sentirse acompañada por la audiencia, y al mismo tiempo compartir experiencias de vida que a otros podrían resultarles útil, como choques culturales y aprendizaje, posteriormente sintió la necesidad de ir compartiendo un poco más de su vida a través de video Vlogs, los cuales nos daban un panorama más amplio y personal del contexto de una familia entre dos culturas distintas, pero lo más importante es que al mismo tiempo cada video le sirve de diario personal, empezando desde que sus hijos estaban chiquitos, hasta actualmente que su hija tiene 20 años y entró en la universidad, así que es lindo ver toda esa evolución.
It's fascinating to learn Ruth's story, or Ruthy's, as we know her from the videos. She explains that when she arrived in Japan newly married and very young, around 20 years old, she felt very alone in a foreign country, without friends and with her family so far away. So, at first, she started the project as a way to feel connected to her audience and, at the same time, share life experiences that others might find useful, such as culture shock and learning. Later, she felt the need to share more of her life through video vlogs, which gave us a broader and more personal view of the context of a family between two different cultures. But most importantly, each video also serves as a personal diary, starting from when her children were little, up to the present day when her daughter is 20 and has started university. It's lovely to see all that evolution.
Entre los videos que más disfruto están aquellos donde aparecen los padres de Ruthy, las veces que han ido a visitar a la familia en Japón, y el que más me gusta de ellos es donde ella cuenta la experiencia de cuando se enamoró de su esposo japonés, cuando se casaron y todo eso. Es un video jocoso, gracioso y muy pero muy interesante de ver porque nos da una idea de lo difícil que debió haber sido afrontar la idea de emigrar tan lejos de su país, con una cultura y un idioma totalmente diferente.
Among the videos I enjoy most are those featuring Ruthy's parents, the times they've visited family in Japan, and my favorite is the one where she recounts the experience of falling in love with her Japanese husband, their wedding, and everything that entails. It's a humorous, funny, and very, very interesting video to watch because it gives us an idea of how difficult it must have been for her to face the idea of emigrating so far from her country, with a completely different culture and language.
Son experiencias enriquecedoras que me han hecho entender que los latinos, aún y cuando tenemos muchas diferencias culturales, en realidad somos más parecidos de lo que creemos, nos une la calidez y la alegría, la necesidad de expresar lo que sentimos, la calidez de un abrazo y el amor por la familia, para nosotros lo más importante después de Dios es la familia, esa necesidad de tener cerca a los seres queridos, tener su apoyo y comprensión. Ahh y antes de que me olvide de decirlos, los videos que más se disfrutan son los navideños porque actualmente esta youtuber ya cuenta con un grupo nutrido de amigos, a los cuales invita en cada víspera de navidad y año nuevo, así que durante esas fechas se llevan a cabo tertulias muy divertidas en donde reina una mezcla de culturas muy diversas, pues son amigos japoneses, mexicanos, españoles, entre otros.
These are enriching experiences that have made me understand that Latinos, even with our many cultural differences, are actually more alike than we think. We are united by warmth and joy, the need to express what we feel, the warmth of a hug, and the love for family. For us, the most important thing after God is family—that need to have loved ones close, to have their support and understanding. Oh, and before I forget to mention, the most enjoyable videos are the Christmas ones because this YouTuber now has a large group of friends whom she invites every Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. So, during those holidays, they have very fun gatherings where a mix of diverse cultures reigns, as they are Japanese, Mexican, Spanish, and other friends.
Es un canal para ver y disfrutar sobre todo en familia pero también solo, les aseguro que les gustará mucho, tanto si les gusta la cultura japonesa como si no 😉, les mando un abrazo lleno de bendiciones y muchos besos virtuales 😘

Emigrating to another country is already a difficult task and even more so when the language, customs and culture are so different and this channel that you bring us today in this review explains it very well, in addition to the fact that a whole life is exposed, from the time the girl got married, had her children until the present day. What started as a way to feel accompanied became a day to day life and a success. Así es, Ruthy San es una chica fuerte y valiente que a pesar de haber salido de México hace ya veinte años, no podemos decir que dejó todo atrás, pues siempre ha estado al pendiente de su familia y su país, siempre ha estado allí para ellos. Por otra parte nos ofrece un panorama muy amplio y entretenido sobre lo que ha sido criar hijos entre dos culturas diferentes y como es el proceso de adaptación.

Debe ser muy difícil adaptarse a una cultura completamente ajena a la propia y en especial a un nuevo idioma, pero ella lo hace parecer sencillo.
Sí, claro que debe ser muy difícil pero ella contó muchas veces que una de las cosas que la ayudó a adaptarse e incluso desahogarse en los momentos de frustración fue precisamente hacer videos y compartir sus experiencias con la audiencia.
que bonito ver unión sin importar la raza o cultura, idioma el amor pasa fronteras. Que bonito compartir. Pronto van aprender español y japonés.
