Well there goes my 30 day challenge! I missed yesterday, as I had to tend to some personal things that ate away at my day. Next thing I knew, it 10pm EST which meant it was 2 in the morning UTC. So my 30 days is now 25 days. I must keep going cause this is my way back to Hive. I've got to get my mojo back!
Four of My Favorite Songs
Today we're supposed to share our 4 favorite songs. This isn't easy when there are so many songs made every year in so many genres to choose from. I like a little of everything except heavy metal. So, how I chose my favorites is by thinking about songs that grab my attention anywhere, anytime.
I've done this topic before some time ago and at least one of these songs I know I included back then. Today I have a little Country, R&B, & a Hip Hop favorite.
Miley Cyrus - This is one of the few country singers I have an interest in and follow her 'til this very day although I don't listen to music as much as when I was younger. I became a fan as I followed her grow up with my own children as Hannah Montana. I loved her music then as Hannah Montana & continued to love her as Miley Cyrus when Hannah Montana became a thing of the past. This song came from the Hannah Montana Movie in 2009. It's all about life & how it's a climb to get it. You must have faith and believe you can make it, and when things go wrong, you have to pick yourself up and keep moving on.
My Husband introduced me to Brad Paisley way back when. This was one of the country singers he liked & listen to quite often. As I heard some of the music it peaked my interest and this on really hit home with me. "When I Get To Where I'm Going" (2009). Just listen to the words & you'll see what I mean.
TLC - Waterfalls, R&B (2010) - Being a northern black girl, tradition is that we listen to a different type of music, but while I do like what some would call black music I also like others types of music. Most of the music I put in my vault of favorites have some type of personal meaning. When I think of 'Waterfalls" it reminds me of my son, now deceased. He didn't deal drugs but it was the type of life he lead that has taken him to his final resting place & the first verse of this song as well as the chorus reminds me of him. It always has even before he past.
Mase -Feels So Good, released in 1997. This is definitely the song to get the party started! It's also one those songs that can make me stop & feel the music where ever I may be or what I may be doing. I'm not big on Rap music but this is a little softer than that, known as Hip Hop music, there is a difference. If you listen to this you will Diffinitely hear the difference between hip hop music & rap.
Thanks for Your time & Happy Listening!!
