🇺🇸 Good day Hive friends. Today I want to talk about a piece I've been working on for a month. It was really hard work, but I enjoyed every stage of it and loved the experience.

To explain this piece, I'm going to tell the story of how it progressed, because a lot happened along the way.

🇪🇸 Buen dia amiwos, hoy les quiero comentar sobre mi pieza que estuve trabajando durante un mes. Una que realmente me dio trabajo pero he disfrutado cada fase del mismo y me gustó la experiencia.

Para explicar esta pieza, voy a hacerlo a modo de historia-progreso, porque pasaron un monton de cosas por el medio.

Lets start from the beginning, shall we?

Concepción de la idea

The idea for this piece came from my instructor, elzappa.

Since I wanted to create a new piece with his guidance, he took an idea I had presented to him before and asked me to come up with three proposals for him to choose from to create a new piece.

La idea para esta pieza vino de mi instructor, elzappa.

Como quería crear una nueva pieza con su guía, él tomó una idea que le habia presentado antes, y me pidió que le presentara 3 propuestas para escoger para crear una pieza nueva.

Brief de la carta

Now that we have the character and the idea, we can create a brief for the card.

A male blood elf wearing Undermine clothing finds a magical card deck from the Gallagio and uses its powers.

*Clarification: Undermine is an underground city of goblins and the Gallagio is a casino.

Ya con el personaje y la idea, podemos crear un brief para la carta

Un elfo de sangre masculino con ropa de Minahonda encuentra un mazo de cartas mágico del Gallagio y usa sus beneficios.
*Aclaración: Minahonda es una cuidad subtarrena de goblins, el Gallagio es un casino

For the background, the instructor told me to use an screenshot from the game, as this way, it wont take too much time to paint a background.

Para el escenario, el instructor sugirió usar directamente una screenshot del juego, para que no tomara tanto tiempo en pintar el fondo.

Feedback necesario

Zapata's feedback was indispensable and essential at every stage of this piece. I listened carefully to his suggestions and proposals and tried my best to absorb every drop of knowledge.

Recalco varias veces que me faltan conocimientos en anatomía y que debo seguir practicando junto con todos los fundamentals.

El feedback de Zapata fue indispensable y esencial en cada paso de esta pieza. Con mucha atencion escuchaba sus sugerencias y propuestas e intentaba con lo mejor de mi absorber cada gota de conocimiento.

He emphasize several times that I lack knowledge of anatomy and that I must continue practicing along with all the fundamentals.

Algo del proceso

As a random fact, I was working on this piece during my streams, but when I saw that I was struggling with the rendering and after a comment, I continued working on it privately. Painting faces is a very difficult challenge for me, and I was too embarrassed to continue working on it live.

I was about to discard the piece twice, but I didn't want to waste the time the instructor took to give me feedback. So, as the deadline approached, I put everything I had into painting it.

Como dato curioso, esta pieza la estaba trabajando durante mis streams, pero al verme en aprietos con el renderizado y despues de un comentario, la continué en privado. Hacer rostros para mi representa un reto muy duro y me dio mucha vergüenza seguir avanzar en directo.
2 veces estuve apunto de descartar la pieza pero No quería desperdiciar el tiempo que el instructor tomó para darme los feedbacks. así cerca de la fecha de entrega me puse a pintar con todo.

It was a very difficult project, but I really enjoyed the card-style illustration and seeing my character looking so incredible. as it should be.

Fue un proyecto de mucha dificultad, pero disfrute mucho trabajar en una ilustración estilo carta, y ver a mi personaje así de bonito, como debe ser en realidad.
