Sacar tiempo para dibujar mientras estoy en la calle me resulta verdaderamente difícil, por esa razón, hoy te mostraré mi contacto con el arte en un jueves de clases.
Taking time to draw while I'm on the street is really difficult for me, for that reason, today I'll show you my contact with art on a Thursday of classes.

Es bueno cuando puedo dibujar cómodamente en mi taller y con todo el tiempo del mundo para hacerlo, lo que pasa es que no todos los días pueden ser así, hay días donde toca hacer otra cosa que me gusta mucho también y es dar clases.
Para contarte un poquito más, junto a una amiga de la universidad damos clases a niños, adolescentes y adultos. El grupo que tenemos ahora es mixto y hay niños de 6 a 10 años.

It's good when I can draw comfortably in my studio and with all the time in the world to do it, what happens is that not every day can be like that, there are days when I have to do something else that I also like very much and that is to give classes.
To tell you a little bit more, together with a friend from the university we give classes to children, teenagers and adults. The group we have now is mixed and there are children from 6 to 10 years old.
Nuestra dinámica de trabajo en el aula es separarnos en mesas y ella se encarga de atender a un grupo y yo otro. Este día como lo pudiste leer en el titulo estuve al pendiente de las dos niñas de 6 que tenemos en clases. Me senté junto a ellas en la mesa para que dibujáramos las tres juntas.
Our work dynamic in the classroom is to separate into tables and she is in charge of one group and I am in charge of the other. This day, as you could read in the title, I was looking after the two 6 year old girls we have in class. I sat next to them at the table so that the three of us could draw together.
La actividad consistía en hacer un jarrón usando los colores complementarios naranja - azul con pintura acrílica. Estas dos niñas suelen ser muy aceleradas para hacer las cosas y a veces no he terminado de darles las instrucciones cuando ellas tienen todo pintado. Ese es su proceso y yo solo estoy allí para brindarles las herramientas necesarias para crear.
The activity consisted of making a vase using the complementary colors orange - blue with acrylic paint. These two girls tend to be very fast at doing things and sometimes I haven't finished giving them the instructions when they have everything painted. That's their process and I'm just there to give them the tools they need to create.
Aquí lo que tratamos de hacer es generar volumen en el jarrón con tres tonos principales, tono bajo para las sombras, tono alto para las luces y un tono medio.
Here what we try to do is to generate volume in the vase with three main tones, low tone for the shadows, high tone for the highlights and a medium tone.
Ellas tenían sus propias mezclas yo solo las iba guiando para que pudieran comprender donde iban a colocar los colores.
They had their own mixes and I was just guiding them so they could understand where they were going to place the colors.
Es bien difícil estar con la clase al mismo tiempo que tomo las fotos del paso a paso. Como te dije antes, trabajamos con los complementarios naranja y azul. La mayoría de tonos naranjas estaban en los marrones del jarrón y esa variación de tonos se logró mezclando con más o menos cantidad de azul.
It is very difficult to be with the class at the same time that I take the step by step photos. As I told you before, we worked with the complementary orange and blue. Most of the orange tones were in the browns of the vase and that variation of tones was achieved by mixing with more or less amount of blue.
Para hacer contraste mezclamos azul con un toquecito de naranja para la parte de arriba del fondo. Mientras que para la parte de abajo hicimos una mezcla de un naranja con bastante amarillo y su toque de azul.
For contrast we mixed blue with a touch of orange for the top part of the background. While for the bottom we made a mix of orange with a lot of yellow and a touch of blue.
Y así quedaron los jarrones, por allí una de las chicas siempre dibuja una carita feliz en sus dibujos, creo que ya es como su firma. Ellas al terminar corrieron para aprovechar los últimos minutos de la clase en el parque. Por mi parte en lo que llegue a mi casa agarre un color azul para definir el contorno de este jarrón.
Aquí abajito te muestro una foto de los trabajos que estaba haciendo la otra profe con el resto de chicos. Por supuesto que el circulo cromático no nos puede faltar cuando trabajamos con color.

One of the girls always draws a smiley face on her drawings, I think it's like her signature. When they finished they ran to take advantage of the last minutes of the class in the park. As for me, as soon as I got home I grabbed a blue color to define the outline of this vase.
Below I show you a picture of the work that the other teacher was doing with the rest of the kids. Of course the chromatic circle is a must when working with color.
Todavía no voy ni en la mitad de este reto y aunque hay días en los que tengo muchas distracciones me la paso pensando en que dibujar, por ahí hasta me compre materiales nuevos y estoy muy feliz porque este reto me ha dado nuevamente la motivación para seguir dibujando y en contacto con el arte.

I'm not even half way through this challenge and although there are days when I have many distractions I spend my time thinking about what to draw, maybe I even bought new materials and I'm very happy because this challenge has given me the motivation to keep drawing and in touch with art.
