Yeah. This game this afternoon is going to go down in history as one of the most pointless games of professional football ever. Although I doubt many are going to watch it in general LOL. Titans and Jags, both 3-12. Both teams light years away from being relevant. Winning technically hurts both teams in terms of draft position. The vibes are basically as weird as it gets.
It would be nice for the Titans to get one final win in 2024. Right before New Year's over the Jags. Yeah, that'd be decent. A loss would simply just be more of the same and a higher draft pick so, meh. I guess I'll just take it easy and enjoy the game for what it's worth. It's still a rivalry game at the end of the day.
Mason Rudolph gets a chance to show his worth some more. I truly would not hate it if we kept him to START next season on a nice cheap deal and draft and build the roster. I would not expect or want the Titans to commit to Rudolph but I'm just saying, grab him on an insanely cheap and likely short term deal, and focus on everywhere else as much as possible. I have heard Jake Browning's name get tossed around. The backup for Joe Burrow played well in nine games including seven starts in 2023 with Brian Callahan. I think he'd be a cheap option with a mildly mysterious upside?
From prior posts I've made, I may have flip flopped on the idea of building up this roster vs finding a franchise QB. It's a big choice the Titans have to make. I believe the Titans should go all in on finding a long term QB and ignore everything else for the most part, or do the opposite and kinda ignore the QB spot and build a halfway threatening roster first. Then be more active in finding a franchise guy all while hopefully having a reasonable amount of cap space. It's just fun to brainstorm frankly. As long as it doesn't take forever, building up a team does sound fun.
Anyway not much to report on. These are seriously just depressing times. I just know that the eventual rise is going to feel that much better. It will be nice to talk draft at least once this season finally comes to a merciful end. This seventeenth game is ROUGH when your team is four day old hot dog water..... 😂
