Before the Hive hardfork 28 I was earning decent amount of #HIVE in a day via curation and if I am not mistaken it would have been more than 70+ HIVE. At times it could go on to 60 as well but then as you know the APR fluctuates it is fine. But came the Hardfork 28 and now when I look at my curation rewards I see a drastic change which is now in the range of 50 #HIVE daily. So I am sure folks who track their curation rewards would have noticed the same as well without a doubt. One thing I want to make clear is that there has been now change in my Hive POWER but rather it has increased only and I was hoping the curation rewards should increase but then it went on the other side. Did you guys notice the same for your hive account?
My Curation Rewards Falling After Hive Hardfork 28 - APR touching 8%
The above snapshot I have taken from Hivestats and you can clearly see that in last days the curation is around 364 HIVE so its like 52 a day on an average and at times it is lower as you can see it for today, yesterday and day before yesterday. So the point I am trying to make here is that there has been an impact on curation after the Hive hard fork 28 and it is clearly visible. Has it got to do with the price of HIVE or something else? I’m not entirely sure. If it was related to the price, then I suppose we should be receiving more, isn’t it? Also day by day I see the vote value also decerasing earler my vote value at 100% used to be around $1.10 and now it is about to touch $1. The irony is that I continue to power up all the #HIVE being earned but then the value of vote instead of increasing is decerasing. I am not excatly getting what is happening here. Anyone if you have an idea then please do share your thoughts on this subject. My strategy ahead is still to #hodl Hive and continue to build on my HIVE Power.
By then end of this year, I definately need to hit my HP goal of having 250K+. Right now, I’m about to touch the 248K+ mark, and from here it’s just the final push. Getting to this point has taken a lot of effort along with being consistent i.e. showing up daily and contributing, compounding my #HIVE, being patience, and staying committed to the ecosystem. Along with all of this, I’ve also invested significantly i.e. have been buying #HIVE at different price points. Hence there’s a considerable amount of capital committed as well. Not sure if this will pay off in the long run or not, but for now it is the path I’ve chosen and I’m fully committed to it. Let us see how things pan out in near future. I kept track but not very well. Before the hardfork (when I was paying attention) 7-8% with some days above 8% is what I was noticing. I seen the higher end increase to 10% after the hardfork. Currently at 7% but I slacked off on my curation here n there over the past week or more. Your vote value is going down because Hive USD value has dipped. Each fraction of a penny becomes more meaningful the lower the Hive Token USD worth dips to. Ex. going from valued at 10 cents to 9 cents is a 10% decrease thus your max USD vote value will decrease 10% in USD worth. As opposed to a one cent drop from a value of $1.00 per token would mean a 1% drop in USD vote value. At least that is how I understand it. Other factors like token inflation and how many curators are active on any given day play a factor but it be near impossible to calculate in such things to any degree of accuracy. Thus my simple formula above to determine such things. Which is summed up to: Higher USD worth per Hive Token/ higher USD worth ones vote is worth.

Generally speaking it is a good thing for the blockchain, as it is less inflationary, however, not so nice having rewards reduced.
Right. Less inflation is good but then why only users be impacted and another rewards like witness.. Cheers
I think the witness rewards are also reduced somewhat.
I did create a script collecting lots of info for a user for the previous month.
It does also show the curation rewards earned in that month.
For me the curation part does say anything but not that much because I don’t have the same activity on Hive each month.
I am adding a feature which does compare the results with the previous month, so you can check it out if you want.
But without tracking I also noticed a decline!

I’m experiencing the same thing, but both my author and curation rewards have dropped as well. I think it might have something to do with what I heard earlier... that approximately 25% of content rewards were reduced or diverted to the DHF,though I’m not entirely sure about that.
