It's amazing to see the shift in user preferences when it comes to frontend usage. I mostly use Ecency because of the point system, which rewards me for every activity I do there. The points aren't even tradeable, but they offer perks like post promotion and account boosting. I think this makes a big difference, especially for authors who aren't earning much from author rewards, as they still feel like they're earning a little extra, even if it's just points.
While PeakD doesn't have a point system, it does offer awesome tools and features that I like, which is why I still use it daily... just not primarily for posting or engaging.
Overall, I'm happy to see both of these frontends thriving in terms of development.
